We’re down to the final four players for the US Open Women’s draw, including Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova.
That’s the first match played on Friday, followed by Madison Keys vs Aryna Sabalenka, so some of our best bets are still in contention.
We look at the best tennis betting tips for the semifinals at Flushing Meadows.
Women’s US Open Semi-finals Predictions
—
Coco Gauff vs Karolina Muchova
We have supported Gauff from the outset, and now that she’s made the semifinal, we’re not going to bet against her.
The American teenager is close to a Grand Slam final, and she can take the next step in her career with a win over Muchova, who isn’t easy to beat.
Muchova broke into the top 10 for the first time at the US Open, and her wins throughout the tournament have been good.
She destroyed Sorana Cirstea 6-0, 6-3 in the quarterfinal, so the $2.61 underdog can’t be written off completely. However, Gauff has the momentum and the big Flushing Meadows crowd behind her.
Gauff got the better of Jelena Ostapenko having dropped just two games. Ostapenko had previously beaten world number one and defending champion Iga Swiatek, so the form checks out strongly for this match.
Gauff won the previous meeting against Muchova 2-0, which happened only a month ago. That’s another strong form guide, so take the $1.48 for Gauff to win.
We also like her to win 2-0, which pays a healthy $2.30.
Bet: Coco Gauff 2-0 @ $2.30
Madison Keys vs Aryna Sabalenka
Madison Keys was another of our American picks to go deep in the tournament, and she hasn’t let us down.
The experienced player looked like a top five player for most of her career, but she has been on the downward trend over the last few years. However, she has rediscovered her form in 2023, and she’s eyeing an upset win over Aryna Sabalenka.
There’s little doubt that Sabalenka is the stronger player, but not necessarily mentally. She often loses the big matches, but she has been impressive throughout the US Open, having not dropped a set.
The Russian is 2-1 against Keys in their head-to-head series, winning the most recent at Wimbledon 2-0. However, Keys took the previous meeting 2-1 in 2021.
The question is whether we want to take $1.34 for a player who doesn’t often follow through with her good play. Her worrisome record when reaching this stage of the tournament is a worry, so we’re going to take the risk with Keys.
With a win, she could set up an all-American final, which would be tremendous. American tennis has gone through a lean patch, especially with Serena Williams out of action, so Gauff and Keys could reignite the passion.
Punters get $3.18 for Keys, and it’s too good to pass. There is also $2.75 available for Keys to win a set, which is the smarter bet. She’s easily good enough to take a set off the second seed.
Alternatively, punters get Keys +4.5 at $1.74, which has been confidently backed.
Bet: Madison Keys to win a set @ $2.75
