We have expert betting predictions for the US Open Women’s Tennis Final between Victoria Azarenka and Naomi Osaka, which are played this Sunday.
Both players looked terrific in their semi-finals, and it sets up for what could be a classic US Open Final.
There is plenty of value to be taken from bookmakers, so we preview the game and look at the best betting opportunities.
2020 Women’s US Open Final Predictions
Naomi Osaka vs. Victoria Azarenka Preview
Two-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka, looked good in her semi-final win over Jen Brady, but she did drop a set.
Osaka took the first set in a tiebreak before losing 6-3 in the second. She called upon her champion qualities in the third and final set, breaking Brady early and holding serve throughout.
Her form throughout the US Open has been good without being great. She has dropped three sets, but she has lost serve only four times throughout the entire tournament.
If she continues to serve well, that will make it tough for Victoria Azarenka to find her opportunities. However, the Belarussian doesn’t need much of an opening to pounce on mistakes.
As we expected would happen, Victoria Azarenka’s fitness and power got the better of Serena Williams on Friday. We weren’t as confident after she dropped the opening set 6-1, but she quickly bounced back.
The 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory holds her in good stead against Osaka, who doesn’t have as much power as Williams. Azarenka was able to get most of Serena’s power shots back in play, which attributed to Williams’ frustration.
Despite being out of form coming into the US Open – mostly due to lack of court time, Azarenka has shown why she’s still one of the best players in the world.
The matchup for this US Open Final is interesting, and styles often make matches. Osaka is a fighter, who has an ability to stay in the point longer than most players. She is also constantly improving, and she has youth on her side.
However, Victoria Azarenka is a power player and her ability to hit winners is incredible. Coupled with hitting winners is not making many mistakes. She made plenty in the first set against Williams, but she quickly re-thought her plan of attack.
After losing 6-1 in the first set, a lesser player would have folded up, but Azarenka was energetic and it threw Williams off. She has regained her passion for the game, and that’s going to be tough for Osaka to stop.

Naomi Osaka vs. Victoria Azarenka Betting Prediction

Bookmakers have Osaka as the $1.54 favourite to win the 2020 US Open. Victoria Azarenka is the $2.44 elect, and there is great value in that price.
Our pick to win Sunday’s final is Victoria Azarenka. She has experience as one of the best players in the world, and her semi-final win over Serena Williams was full of determination.
She seems on a path destined for this title, and although Naomi Osaka is a tough opponent, she’s not mentally as tough as Azarenka.
The Belarussian has had a lengthy career and although it stopped for a while, she is back and potentially better than ever.
The $2.44 are better odds than we expected, and it always pays to take the value player in a Grand Slam final.
Most women’s finals are one-sided, which makes Azarenka 2-0 ($4.33) another good value play. She has the ability to wipe Osaka off the court and punters are getting odds worth taking.
Punters should be confident in backing Victoria Azarenka. She won’t give up at any stage of the final, and with her experience edge over Osaka, it could be enough in itself.
Betting prediction: Victoria Azarenka to win ($2.44)
