We have expert betting tips for the WTA Birmingham, where punters get an even betting field to enjoy.
Jelena Ostapenko is the favourite at $6.50 with Karolina Pliskova, and there is excellent value throughout the tennis field.
There is excellent value available at the sportsbook for WTA tournaments, as it leads into Wimbledon.
WTA Birmingham Tips & Predictions
—
WTA Birmingham Best Bet – Jelena Ostapenko
The Latvian 27-year-old is the top-seeded player at Birmingham, and she could justify her $6.50 quote.
She is a former grand slam winner who plays some of her best tennis on grass courts, including a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon in 2018.
She has been only fair at grand slam level this year, losing in the third round in Melbourne and second round in Paris, but she’s better than that.
The 2017 French Open champion should enjoy not having to play against the best in the world like Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, which bodes well.
Given the odds available, she’s worth including in selections.
Bet: Jelena Ostapenko @ $6.50
WTA Birmingham Best Value – Katie Boulter
Katie Boulter will have her home fans on her side in London, and the British player could beat this field.
The 27-year-old comes off a tournament win at Nottingham, where she got the better of Pliskova in the final 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
It was a fine return to form for the Leicester-born player, who bounced back from a first-round loss at the French Open.
Grass courts is more her thing, as she was taught on grass courts. She comes off consecutive third-round appearances at Wimbledon, so the statistics read well.
There is good respect for her in betting markets at $8.00, so include her in tennis picks.
Bet: Katie Boulter @ $8.00
WTA Birmingham Next Best – Barbora Krejcikova
Barbora Krejcikova is the second seed at Birmingham, and the former world number one could get back to her best.
The 28-year-old lost in the first round at the French Open, but she also played doubles and mixed doubles, so it was a busy schedule.
We would prefer if she just focused on singles action, but she’s playing doubles as well this week at Birmingham.
However, she’s good enough to beat this field. She won the 2021 French Open, and her results at Wimbledon over the last few years have been solid.
She handles grass courts well, so we’re happy to include her in selections at $7.50. There has been solid betting support for her.
Bet: Barbora Krejcikova @ $7.50
WTA Birmingham Best Roughie – Elise Mertens
We always like backing Elise Mertens, who was beaten by Naomi Osaka last week.
The Belgium player is never too far away from producing a tournament victory, especially at this level, so we’re happy to back her.
She enjoys playing on grass, having lost in the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2022 and following it up with a third-round loss in 2023.
Getting $13.00 for a player of her class is good shopping, and her odds could firm considerably throughout the week.
Bet: Elise Mertens @ $13.00
