Super Rugby Pacific Round 3 Tips

Friday 27/2/26
It’s not an easy game to predict to start the week, but we’re taking the better odds for the Force to pull off an upset in Auckland.
It will be a large Moana Pasifika crowd, but after getting thrashed by the Hurricanes last week, we can’t put them in our selections. The 52-10 loss in Wellington showcased their lack of depth, which is a big concern.
The Force lost 42-32 to the Blues, which was a tidy effort, so take the $2.57 odds.

There is good value with the Highlanders, who were only narrowly beaten by Super Rugby favourites the Chiefs last week.
The 26-23 loss might have been heartbreaking, but there is plenty of upside for the Highlanders, who defeated the Crusaders in the opening week.
The Reds come off a bye week following a heavy loss to the Waratahs, so their confidence levels won’t be high enough to win this game.

Saturday 28/2/26
After scoring an effortless win over Moana Pasifika last round, the Hurricanes eye another easy win over the Drua.
The newer teams in the competition have struggled to play for the full 80 minutes, and with the Drua losing 36-13 to the Waratahs last week, there aren’t many positive signs for the Fijian team, despite playing at home this week.
The class of the Hurricanes should be enough to win and cover the –14.5 spread.

It doesn’t get much better than the Chiefs vs. Crusaders, but based on what we’ve seen, the Crusaders could struggle to keep up with their New Zealand rivals.
They are 0-2 after losing to the Highlanders and Brumbies, and they were –11.5 favourites to beat the Brumbies last week. It was a poor effort for a team that includes many All Blacks, and the Chiefs could jump on them.
Playing at home is a big assist, and despite winning their games by close margins, the floodgates could open for the title favourites.

The Brumbies have looked good so far, but we don’t rate them 7.5 points better than the Blues, who won 42-32 against the Force last week.
Our worry for the Brumbies is that they might have peaked after two rounds, and the Blues are talented enough to apply the pressure early. If they score an early try, the Brumbies could struggle to stay in the game.
The $1.33 odds for the Brumbies are too short, so back the Blues.
