Super Rugby Round 12 Tips

Friday 2/5/25
5:05pm Blues vs. Force @ Eden Park
The Blues need to recoup over the final five weeks to show something for themselves, and it starts this week against the Force.
Bookmakers have the Blues at –15.5, which is a fair line considering the Force don’t travel well, including a 56-22 hammering at the hands of the Chiefs last week. That was a dour performance, and another one could be on the cards.
Scoring points is key and the Blues have more attacking options, so take them to cover the spread.
Betting tip: Blues –15.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 3/5/25
2:05pm Drua vs. Reds @ ANZ Stadium
The Drua suffered a tough defeat to Moana Pasifika last week, which could be tough to bounce back from against the Reds.
We believe the only time the Drua play well is when they get a home game in Fiji, and with this game being played at ANZ Stadium, there could be more Reds fans in attendance.
The Reds won 35-21 over the Blues last week, and they should score a comfortable win as a –2.5 favourite, which is an overly generous line.
Betting tip: Reds –2.5 @ $1.90

5:05pm Hurricanes vs. Chiefs @ Sky Stadium
It comes as no surprise to see the Chiefs listed at $1.57 to win, and although the game is played in Wellington, the Chiefs are a much better team.
They’re one of the favourites to win Super Rugby Pacific, and the Hurricanes haven’t been able to show their best on a consistent basis. They beat the Brumbies last week, but beating the Chiefs is a different kettle of fish.
Bookmakers offer another good line, so take the Chiefs –3.5.
Betting tip: Chiefs –3.5 @ $1.90

7:35pm Brumbies vs. Waratahs @ GIO Stadium
We love a Brumbies vs Waratahs game and it’s the Brumbies who are expected to win with Super Rugby odds. They are $1.25 favourites at home, and they could get back to their winning ways following a loss to the Hurricanes.
The Waratahs had a bye last week, following a 28-14 loss to the Drua. That wasn’t a good performance, and there isn’t much depth to the Waratahs roster, which is worrisome.
The –9.5 line could move to double digits on Saturday, so take the line.
Betting tip: Brumbies –9.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 4/5/25
1:35pm Highlanders vs. Moana Pasifika @ Forsyth Barr Stadium
We never know what to make of Moana Pasifika. They can look great one week and terrible the next, so we’re opting to pick the Highlanders as a safer bet.
The Highlanders lost 43-10 to the Crusaders last week, but there are fewer scoring threats with Moana Pasifika, so they could bounce back to winning ways.
The –3.5 line is generous enough to include in Super Rugby picks.
Betting tip: Highlanders -3.5 @ $1.90
