Queensland Oaks Form Guide & Tips

(1) Benagil ($4.50)

She didn’t get much luck last time out at Doomben, so we’re prepared to forgive that effort and include her in picks.

Her win in the Australasian Oaks is a much better form guide, hence the shortening odds.

(2) Philia (Best Bet – $4.20)

The local is a great chance of winning the Queensland Oaks, and we love the way she makes her own luck on the speed.

She will need to use some energy from out wide, but she is a smart type, and she could continue her rise to the top.

(3) Movin Out (Best Each Way – $7.00)

Third behind Philia last start when storming home down the outside. That was a good run for the Queensland Oaks, and the Waller/McDonald combo could strike.

Look for her to settle back and come with a withering late burst.

(4) Churchill’s Choice (Best Roughie – $12.00)

The Nathan Doyle stable is loving life this season, and Churchill’s Choice looks ready to win a big race.

She has been all around the mark without winning this prep, and she is a smart type in the making, so take the double-figure odds.

(5) You Wahng ($19.00)

Third behind Treasurethe Moment at Randwick before disappointing at Gosford. She ran fifth last start, which is the best form guide.

She could be worth including in first four picks at the price.

(6) Jenni’s Meadow ($9.50)

She ran second behind Philia last start, so it wouldn’t be smart to leave her out. That’s the best form race for the Oaks, and she has shown a good turn-of-foot.

(7) Real Class ($61.00)

Only struggling recently and we don’t think she’s up to this class.

(8) Pinito ($9.50)

There has been solid backing for the James Cummings-trained filly, who was too good for them at Gold Coast last start.

Should be right around the mark, so include in first four picks.

(9) Pleasure Artist ($51.00)

She has been disappointing this season after showing so much promise in the spring. Based on her recent form, we can’t include her.

(10) Sweltering ($46.00)

Never too far away from the mark, but this is a fair rise in class. Drawing barrier 21 doesn’t help her chances.

(11) Let’s Fly ($23.00)

An all-the-way winner at Randwick last start and that run can’t be overlooked. That came in heavy conditions, so she might need something similar on race day, but the forecast is for clear weather.

(12) Poster Girl ($101.00)

Not running well enough for us to entertain her chances at big odds.

(13) She’s a Dealer ($51.00)

The Kiwi made late ground to run second behind Let’s Fly in Sydney. She will only improve with the run, and the heavy track didn’t suit.

Given the odds, we’re happy to include her in our picks.

(14) Amplify ($51.00)

Solid enough form this prep, but she will need to find a couple of lengths. Too many nice types in this field.

(15) Sun Worshipper ($81.00)

There has been some specking for her at odds, but she needs something much easier.

(16) Eclair Encore ($26.00)

She doesn’t know how to run a bad race and she’s another runner specked at odds. We can’t find room for her, but a good showing wouldn’t be surprising.

(17) Shangri La Impact ($34.00)

In good hands and coming off consecutive wins. Big rise in class, and that’s the worry.

(18) Ella Hazel ($35.00)

A two-time winner this prep, but like many runners in this field, rising to Group 1 level could be too much of an ask.

(19) Misting ($101.00)

A last-start winner but we can’t see her keeping her winning form going.

(20) La Cometa ($101.00)

Big odds and she should be struggling a long way from home.

(21) Madame Lexis ($151.00)

Unlikely to run and unlikely to win if she does make her way into the field.

(22) Elivina ($126.00)

Enduring a tough first campaign and this is a step too far.

(23) Lovey Dovey ($91.00)

In good hands with Waller but unlikely to make an impact.
