All Blacks vs. Ireland Predictions

Ireland is the best team in the world according to the rankings, and its form at the 2023 Rugby World Cup has been excellent.

They got the better of South Africa in a low-scoring affair, which showed their determination, which is why they’re favoured to beat the All Blacks at $1.61.

We can’t remember a time when Ireland was favoured to beat the All Blacks, considering Ireland has never made it past the quarterfinals of this tournament.

There is confidence with the men in green, who have won five of the last eight test matches against New Zealand.

However, getting New Zealand at $2.32 is almost too good to ignore. Barring their opening match loss to France, where poor discipline cost them, they have been excellent against the second-tier nations.

They made Italy and Uruguay rethink their status in the world of rugby, and we think they are saving their best rugby for Ireland on Sunday.

With three World Cup wins under their belt, New Zealand has a rich history, and they have never been eliminated at the quarterfinal stage.

It won’t be an easy game against Ireland, but we can’t turn down the generous odds from bookmakers. We expected it to be a $1.90 split, and there is only 2.5 points between them with points spread markets, so the odds are extremely generous.

New Zealand is a $2 underdog with the New Zealand TAB, so Australian punters get much better odds with local bookmakers.

Odds are out for Player of the Match and our pick is New Zealand’s inspirational forward Ardie Savea.

If the All Blacks are going to beat Ireland, the forward pack needs to muscle up, and it also needs to play running rugby.

Kicking the ball away to the Irish is a sure-fire way to lose, so look for the likes of Savea to grab the ball from the ruck and run with it.

He’s the $7 favourite for a season, and he could have a career-defining performance in the black jersey.

Another player we want on our ticket is Richie Mo’unga. He’s a player who could prove to the world that he’s one of the best first fives in the game, and he’ll do it with both ball in hand and off the boot.

It should be a close game either way, so kicking conversations and penalties will be important. If Mo’unga can slot the kicks and set up a couple of tries, look for his name on the short list for Player of the Match.

There is also good value for All Blacks winger Will Jordan with first try scorer markets. Jordan has been in excellent try scoring form, and the $11 available with bookmakers is too good to pass up.

There are holes in the Irish defence on the wings, as opposed to through the middle, so look for Mo’unga to produce a cross-field kick and Jordan to be on the end of it.
