We are surprised by the lack of money for Noah Lyles, who we believe is still the best sprinter in the world.

The American has been overtaken by Jamaican Kishane Thompson, who is a fine sprinter in his own right. However, there is much better value with Lyles.

He is a runner that never shows his best when he doesn’t need to. He did what was needed during the U.S. Men’s Olympics trials, but he should show his best in Paris.

Getting $3.10 for Lyles is much better than we expected. We priced him around $2.40, in what could be a three-horse race.

Thompson, Lyles, and our best value pick are the only three options punters will need for the men’s 100m sprint.

Men’s 100m Best Value – Oblique Seville

Oblique Seville is another Jamaican superstar, who might be considered second-best to his teammate Thompson, but he could improve the most.

The 23-year-old ran 9.82 in Kingston this year, and if he replicates that at the Olympics, he has every chance of winning gold, and medaling at worst.

It’s his first Olympic games after failing to quality for the Tokyo 2020 Games. However, his improvement has been excellent over the last four years, and he could test the best runners in the world.

Punters get $8.00 for Seville, and he’s a good saver bet.

Women’s 100m Best Bet – Sha’Carri Richardson

There is no better women’s sprinter than Sha’Carri Richardson, hence the extremely short odds.

The American has been in blistering form entering the Paris Olympics, and she is clearly back to her best this year.

The Texan won the 2023 World Championships, which was a good bounce back from being disqualified due to a failed drug test.

Some concerns have been raised by her 200m form, which saw her fail to quality for the Olympics. However, with only one event to focus on, she should be tough to beat at $1.60 odds.

She’s worth including in Olympics multis.

Women’s 100m Best Value – Shericka Jackson

The biggest threat to Richardson is Jackson, who is a value pick at $5.00.

Jackson is a Jamaican runner, and she’s one of the more experienced runners in the field at the age of 30.

Boasting a wealth of Olympic medals, including bronze at the Tokyo 100m and gold in the women’s relay for Team USA, Jackson has enough improvement in her to win.

Many of the older runners have gone backwards, including Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Dina Asher-Smith, but Jackson is still in the limelight.
