The Bulldogs didn’t play well last week, but they did enough defensively to get past a disappointing Cowboys team.

They were down 8-0 in the first half before two late tries saw the Bulldogs take a 12-8 lead into halftime. That was the final score, so although their attack has been left wanting, they are tough to score tries against.

That’s where they could dominate against the Dragons, who struggle to defend after allowing 31 and 28 points over the last two games. The Bulldogs won 28-20 in the first meeting of 2025, and we expect an even better performance this week.

It’s unlikely that the Dragons will do enough to stay competitive in this game. They have history and recent form working against them, and this could be a statement game from the Bulldogs, who once led the NRL ladder.

They want to establish themselves as a top team, and although the Dragons have talent in their team, they struggle with consistency, so the Bulldogs could run away with it.
