NBL Round 2 Predictions

Thursday 25/9/25
It was an excellent opening week for United, who went 2-0, including an epic win over the JackJumpers in the opening game.
It bodes well for their matchup against fellow Melbourne team the Phoenix, who won their only game last week against the Taipans. However, beating Cairns isn’t exactly a good form guide.
We expect United to win and cover the spread, as they look to make an early statement.

Friday 26/9/25
We expected a fast start for the Bullets, who took care of the Breakers with ease in Auckland last week.
They did suffer an injury blow to their captain, but given the amount of talent on the team, including Casey Prather, they’re good enough to put the Taipans to bed early.
We expect the Taipans to win the wooden spoon, and after scoring just 77 points last week, another big loss is on the cards.

Saturday 27/9/25
It was a rough opening week for the Breakers, but this is the best time to back them.
They play at home against a Wildcats team coming off a loss and having to travel a long distance, so everything points towards a win for the home side.
They just need to make shots from the outside, which they haven’t done, but they have enough ability to beat Perth at generous odds.

The Hawks didn’t play NBL basketball last week as they were playing in a champions tournament, but the defending champions should play well.
They should relish the occasion when playing at home in front of adoring fans, and although the JackJumpers won their most recent game in fine style, the Hawks should measure up given the big occasion.
Getting $1.70 is a good price from bookmakers, so include them in NBL multi bets.

Sunday 28/9/25
The Kings should fancy their chances of beating the Taipans, who could endure another tough week in the NBL.
Sydney is the fresher side having not played last week, and it has been biding its time. The Kings are expected to make a good fist of it in 2025, and we expect the Taipans to finish near the bottom of the NBL ladder.
Covering a –6.5 spread isn’t easy, but the home side should get it done.

The 36ers are another team making their season debut this week, and although we love what the Bullets are offering, Adelaide should win and cover the spread at home.
Expectations are high for the 36ers, and kicking off the 2025 campaign at home is an ideal situation on Sunday afternoon.
Look for money to come for the 36ers, who should win and cover the spread.
