It should be one-way traffic for the 36ers, who currently lead the NBL title race after scoring a gutsy win over the Illawarra Hawks.

Consistency has been tough to come by for the Taipans, who have Jack McVeigh, but not a lot else. McVeigh was stunning against the Breakers, but he scored just 11 points in a loss to the Kings, and that won’t be good enough to hang with the 36ers.

Bryce Cotton keeps doing what he needs to do to get his team over the line. He doesn’t need to score 40+ points for the 36ers to win, but he’s still the NBL’s leading scorer. Cotton knocks down shots when he must, and he should have plenty of opportunity to hit big shots against the struggling Taipans.

It won’t take much for Cotton to score 25+ points against a Taipans defence that allowed Sydney to score 119 points last week. We have him scoring a big total, so include the MVP front runner in your NBL same game multis.

Isaac Humphries could dominate the paint. Cairns doesn’t have an interior defender good enough to stop him, and Humphries comes off a 16-point effort. Look for him to score around 20 points on Christmas Eve.

We’re including under 180.5 points based on the Taipans’ lack of scoring. They can score low numbers when they’re off their game, and the final score could be 98-70.

It could be a big night for Humphries, and he is more than capable of scoring 20+ points.

He scored 28 points against the Wildcats, and if he can do that against a good defensive unit, he should put up bigger numbers against Cairns.
