The 36ers have four wins from their last five games, and we’re riding the hot team. They bounced back from a loss to the Wildcats with wins over the JackJumpers and Taipans, which is good to build confidence levels.

They’ll need to be good to beat and cover the spread against the Hawks, but the Hawks have been far too inconsistent for our liking. They looked great when upsetting United and then beating Cairns, but they lost 98-71 to the Kings last week.

We’re backing the more consistent team in the 36ers, who get the benefit of playing at home, and the –4.5 spread is fair from bookmakers.

Bryce Cotton exploded for 41 points against the Taipans, and he could put up a similar score against the Hawks in a high-scoring game. Cotton has played well since moving from Perth, and punters should expect that form to continue.

Isaac Humphries is paying only $1.48 to record 6+ rebounds, but he’s worth including in NBL same game multis. He had 13 boards against the Taipans, and although keeping JaVale McGee off the boards won’t be easy, he is good at boxing out.

Defence is secondary to the 36ers and Hawks, so include over 184.5 points in what should be an entertaining game.

When Cotton is firing, he can put up massive totals. He showed that last week when dropping 41 points on the Taipans and we haven’t been impressed by the Hawks’ defence, which could get lit up by the MVP candidate.

Cotton scoring over 35 points isn’t unusual, and punters getting $3.50 is a good price with NBL odds. We’re happy to back him as our best value bet on Wednesday night.
