We have NBA tips and predictions for Friday, February 13th, which features the Bucks vs Thunder, Trail Blazers vs Jazz, and Mavericks vs Lakers.
Our NBA tips include a best bet and NBA same game multi, and we’re looking forward to the NBA action this week.
SMilwaukee Bucks @ OKC Thunder Predictions
Best Bet
The Thunder blew away the Suns, who entered this clash off no rest minus Devin Booker, and now it’s OKC’s turn to play off no rest when they host the Bucks.
SGA is still out for the Thunder along with Ajay Mitchell, and there’s a genuine chance they also rest Jalen Williams, Isaiah Hartenstein, Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso for this. Their second-unit is still really good and should win, but the Bucks caused a major upset on Thursday against the Magic in Orlando and will enter with some confidence off the back of the signing of Cam Thomas.
Surprisingly, OKC has the worst spread coverage rate in the NBA this season off no rest at just 12.5% with a 3-5 win-loss record. This will be closer than the spread suggests.
If the Thunder go ahead and rest their starters prior to All Star break like they did against the Spurs last time they played off no rest, Cason Wallace will get a significant usage spike. In the two games he’s played without SGA and Jalen Williams this season, Wallace has covered 12.5 points on both occasions.
Kuzma can be erratic, but without Giannis this season he’s averaging 14.7 points per game and has hit double figures in 16 of 20 games.
Lu Dort has played in four games without Chet this season, and has hit 4+ rebounds in all four games, averaging 5.3 rebounds – a 37% increase on his regular season average.
Portland Trail Blazers @ Utah Jazz Predictions
Best Bet
Expect the Jazz to rest the likes of Markkanen, Nurkic, Jackson Jr and George when they host the Trail Blazers – both teams entering off no rest.
When the Jazz play off no rest this season, generally with their bench unit, it becomes a genuine shoot-out – their last ten games off no rest the average total points have been 256.2, covering this total points line in nine of those.
With the highest total points coverage rate off no rest in the NBA this season at 73%, I can see this hitting around 250.
Same Game Multi
Donovan Clingan has been in incredible rebounding form, but we’ve seen his line drop slightly due to two single-figure rebounding efforts in the last two games. Prior to this though, Clingan hit 12+ in seven of eight games and should do so again against the Jazz.
Jerami Grant hit 15+ points in six straight games before Thursday’s blowout to the Timberwolves, and should bounce back with Deni and Scoot likely being rested.
Isaiah Collier will once again carry the offensive load for Utah assuming they rest their starters, and could push 40+ minutes in this.
Dallas Mavericks @ LA Lakers Predictions
Best Bet
No Cooper Flagg for the Mavericks is a huge blow, and if Naji Marshall also misses it’s hard to see where Dallas’ offense will come from in this.
The Lakers should get back all of their key players excluding Luka, who were rested last start against the Spurs, and they are a good front running team on the home court.
Of all teams that have started favourite on their home court at least eight times this season, the Lakers have the best home coverage record as favourites, going at 68.8%. Dallas on the other hand have struggled as road underdogs, covering at just 37.5%.
Same Game Multi
If Marshall does play, he’ll score 15+ quite easily without Cooper Flagg, scoring 30+ points in two of his last three games.
Marcus Smart has been outstanding when Doncic has missed this season, averaging 15.5 points from six games and hitting double digits in five of those.
Points have dried up for Deandre Ayton, but he’s consistently rebounded in Luka Doncic’s absence this season, hitting 8+ in all eight games.
