James Harden has joined the Cavaliers, and although they managed to record the win in his Cleveland debut it was a struggle against the Kings.

I think it might take some time for Harden and Mitchell to work it out as two high-usage guards, and heading to Denver is one of the NBA’s toughest road trips.

Nikola Jokic has back for the Nuggets with triple doubles in his last two games, and I expect him to lead Denver to a win on their home floor.

Both Denver and Cleveland play in their fair share of high scoring affairs, with the Nuggets owning the highest overs coverage rate in the NBA this season at 64.2%, while Cleveland has the fourth highest overs coverage rate on the road this season at 56%.

Julian Strawther has come out of nowhere for Denver. He didn’t get much opportunity when the Nuggets were missing majority of their starters, but he’s made his way into the starting lineup last start where he scored 19 points, meaning he’s hit double digits in his last three.

Donovan Mitchell may play off the ball more with Harden alongside him, but I still expect the combo-guard to get plenty of usage in this offense, with Mitchell hitting 4+ assists in his last nine games.

Detroit Pistons @ Charlotte Hornets Predictions

Can you believe it – the Hornets own the best net rating in the NBA since the turn of 2026, and this is a huge matchup against the Eastern Conference leading Pistons.

I think we see the defensive nature of both teams in this. The Hornets have done a great job at owning home court recently winning their last four, and it’s from their defensive efforts resulting in six of their last seven games at home going under the total points.

Of all teams in the NBA that have played more than one game as home-court underdogs, the Hornets have the lowest total points coverage rate at just 29.4% – think we see a grind between these teams.

Brandon Miller has gone past LaMelo Ball as Charlotte’s primary offensive weapon, and although his last three games have been poor, he showed what he’s capable of with ten straight games of 20+ points – look for the bounce back.

Kon Knueppel has had an incredible rookie season, and his points and rebounds lines appear low – he’s averaging 22.2 points in his last five games hitting 15+ in four of them, while recording 4+ rebounds in 17 of his last 19 games.

Philadelphia 76ers @ Portland Trail Blazers Predictions

The 76ers are one of the best road teams in the NBA this season, ranked 5th in win percentage with a 15-9 record, but they’re clearly ranked first in covering the spread on the road.

Philadelphia is 17-7 in road coverage this season, and when on the road as favourites they’re coverage rate goes to 81.8%.

Avdija is still questionable for the Trail Blazers and I don’t expect them to race him back pre All Star, with Philadelphia entering this winning six of their last seven.

Joel Embiid gets one of the best matchups in basketball, with the Trail Blazers conceding points to centres 22% above average over the last month. The former MVP is in a hot run of form, averaging 33.1 points from his last 10 games, hitting 30+ in eight of those games.

Kelly Oubre has thrived in Paul George’s absence, averaging 16.4 points without PG this season and hitting 10+ points in 19 of those 21 games.

Scoot Henderson showed enough in his first game back for Portland – the Point Guard played just 21 minutes, but had nine assists in his season debut. We should continue to see solid assist numbers from Scoot the remainder of the season.
