Wyong racing tips
—
We’re taking the shorts with So D’oro, who ran fifth at Wyong last start when sprinting well from the back of the field.
The three-year-old filly by So You Think will appreciate the rise in distance more than most in this field, and her opening odds have been smashed.
Take the $2.10 before her odds shorten even further.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Listen Sweetheart resumed with a good win at Canberra, and although there is more depth in this field, she can handle it.
We always enjoy backing a John Sargent-trained filly, and he tends to get the best out of younger horses, especially at this level.
Getting the inside draw with 55kg on her back is ideal.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Punters are getting a tad frustrated with Saytara, who keeps promising to deliver but continues to find a few better.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained filly by Written Tycoon ran second at Warwick Farm two back before running fourth at Canterbury.
Coming to Wyong could see her form improve enough to win.
Stake: 2 Units
Punters get each-way odds for Pratt, who comes off two placings at Port Macquarie, and this isn’t an overly tough BM64 field.
The four-year-old son of Exceed and Excel is a past winner at Wyong, so having winning form at the track adds to his appeal.
3kg comes off his back, which is enough to get the job done.
Stake: 1 Unit
The four-year-old son of Written By appeared to have needed the run last time out, so we’re prepared to forgive that effort.
He showed better speed when running second at Kembla Grange last preparation, and a repeat of that effort should take him close.
Dropping to 54.5kg is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Anthropoid wasn’t too far away from the prize when posting two fourths last prep, which came in the city.
The two-year-old colt by Prague ran fourth behind Thrill Hunter on debut before finishing behind Revengeance last time out.
That came at Group 3 level, so the form stacks up.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Dusty Bar showed elite speed earlier in his career, and we’re giving him another chance to get back to his best.
The three-year-old son of Sandbar comes off a run at Randwick, and he will appreciate the easier field at Wyong on Thursday.
Look for him to find the front and kick away.
Stake: 1 Unit
Richard Litt lines up She’s Assort, who ran second on debut at Hawkesbury before winning at Kembla Grange last time out.
The three-year-old filly by Tassort opened at $2.80 before firming into $2.30, and we expect more money to come for her.
She only needs luck from a wide barrier to go close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
