Aggressive comes off an improved placing at Wangaratta, and that is good enough form for this level of racing.
The three-year-old son of Tagaloa had been facing tough fields at Flemington, where he was no match for the open and listed grades.
We recommend taking the $5.50 odds in an even field.
Stake: 1.5 Units
The five-year-old showed good staying ability when winning at Albury two starts back, which is a tidy form guide for this race.
He is only a three-time winner from 20 starts, but he is good enough to handle this field despite carrying a big weight.
We’re happy to include him in picks at the current odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Seeking to go one better than last start is King Kauffo, who found the line nicely enough behind Imponderable.
The three-year-old son of Merchant Navy doesn’t need to improve much to handle this field, and getting 3kg off his back is ideal.
That should be enough to take him close as the favourite.
Stake: 2 Units
The four-year-old mare was spelled following a debut third placing at Wangaratta, and she could return a stronger horse.
She was a short margin behind the winner as a $19 chance, and we’re not surprised by the much shorter odds this time around.
If she gets luck from out wide, she should fight out the finish.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to improve on her form is I See You Baby, who comes off consecutive fifths at Cranbourne and Yarra Valley.
The four-year-old hit the line well enough last time out, and although dropping in distance to 1400m is an interesting decision, it could help her switch on.
She is worth including in picks at the double-figure odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Punters get value odds with Keith, who wasn’t far away when running second at Wagga last time out.
The seven-year-old doesn’t win all that often, but he likes to roll forward and be right around the mark from the outset.
Getting 3kg off his back could be all he needs to post a win.
Stake: 1 Unit
Guru Two has been all around the mark throughout his career, including a win and five placings from eight starts.
The four-year-old son of Cable Bay runs well at Wodonga with a win and a placing, so the form stacks up nicely for this race.
Barrier two is ideal, and it should be enough to take him close.
Stake: 2 Units
We’re backing another consistent runner in Frosted in Time, who won at Kilmore before posting back-to-back placings at Ballarat and Seymour.
The four-year-old gelding by Frosted is having his first start at Wodonga, but it’s a track that should suit his running style.
The $2.60 could firm on race day, so take the opening odds.
Stake: 2 Units
