Warwick Farm racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:15) Vinnie Three-Time Champion Sire Maiden (1000m)
#6 – Regulated Affair @ $1.60
Regulated Affair ran a close second on debut at Randwick, and we’re not surprised by the short odds for Wednesday’s race.
The two-year-old son of Wootton Bassett showed a good turn-of-foot, and having James McDonald riding adds to his appeal.
The odds are short, but he’s worth including in multis.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 2. (12:50) Schweppes Maiden (1000m)
#6 – Litigate @ $5.00
Litigate is on debut after winning a trial at Warwick Farm by 1.3 lengths, and he could make a winning start.
The two-year-old filly by Bivouac is bred for speed, and she only needs cover from a tricky draw to finish best down the outside.
We’re prepared to take the risk and back her at each-way odds.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (13:25) Hawaii Five Oh Vinery Stud Maiden (1300m)
#5 – Frankely Sublime @ $4.00
Frankely Sublime looked likely to score on debut at Gosford before coming up just short, but it was a good run in defeat.
She got slightly too far back, but there is good hype around the Chris Waller-trained filly, and she could exit maidens on Wednesday.
She’s well-bred, and having McDonald riding is a good sign.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (14:00) Cogburn World’s Fastest Horse Widden BM72 (1000m)
#5 – Struck Gold @ $3.00
Struck Gold is better for two runs this preparation, including a fourth at Warwick Farm in his latest effort.
The five-year-old son of Castledale is a former Kiwi runner that has looked good since arriving in Australia, and he gets all favours from the inside draw.
We expect him to settle handy with the 3kg claimer riding, which is a positive.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (14:35) Asahi Super Dry BM72 (1600m)
#13 – Little Jeanie @ $8.00
Punters get value odds for Little Jeanie, who is better than her recent form at Wyong and Warwick Farm suggests.
The four-year-old mare was running at short odds last season, so getting $8 is a good price from bookmakers.
Dropping to 53.5kg makes her tough to hold out.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 6. (15:10) Drinkwise Mile BM72 (1600m)
#7 – Misterkipchoge @ $3.50
Misterkipchoge continues to frustrate punters, but having James McDonald riding could see his fortunes change.
He is a dour type that needs to be worked on well before the home turn, and McDonald likes to get going on his rides earlier rather than later.
We’re happy to give him another chance to post a win.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (15:45) Traffic Warden Darley BM72 (1300m)
#13 – Kyeema @ $10.00
There has been some specking for Kyeema, who didn’t fire in Hong Kong, but they often return to Australia and show something.
The five-year-old son of Siyouni has run in Australia in 2023 in Sydney, and his trials have been solid, so the double-figure odds are generous.
We expect money to come for him on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (16:20) Tab BM72 (1300m)
#9 – Mia Ballerina @ $7.50
Mia Ballerina scored a good maiden win at Canterbury last start, scoring by 2.8 lengths in fine style.
The three-year-old daughter of Cosmic Force owns a win and three placings, including a placing at Warwick Farm.
She gets the inside draw with McDonald riding, and the odds are generous.
Stake: 1 Unit
