Wangaratta racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:30) Your Everyday Gourmet Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Malletier @ $2.00
Malletier ran well enough for third on debut at Bendigo, which came in unsuitable heavy conditions.
The three-year-old gelding by Nicconi was only a half-length behind the winner, so it was a good effort in defeat.
It shouldn’t take him long to win a race, especially off the inside draw.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 2. (14:00) Worklocker Wangaratta Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Box Office @ $3.00
The three-year-old gelding by I Am Invincible ran well for third on debut before disappointing at Sandown last time out.
He wasn’t a fan of the heavy surface, and based on betting moves, he should be tough to beat in this race.
Take the odds before more money comes for him.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 3. (14:30) Winsec Savings & Loans Maiden (1300m)
#9 – Menzah One @ $4.20

Money is coming for him, so take the odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (15:00) Quality Hotel Gateway Maiden (1590m)
#12 – Big Bertha @ $6.50
Big Bertha got back to winning form when second at Kyneton, where she showed a good turn-of-foot.
The five-year-old daughter of Smart Missile will likely get back from the wide barrier, so owning a turn-of-foot is needed.
Punters get generous odds and they’re worth snapping up.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 5. (15:30) Set a Deposit Limit BM58 (1590m)
#3 – Go Atti Go @ $6.00
Patrick Payne has made a solid start to his career, including four starts for a win and a placing.
The son of Tivaci won on debut before finishing second at Swan Hill, and although his form has tapered off since, he still has ability.
His odds are drifting but punters get a value price.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16.00) Mason Park BM58 (1170m)
#2 – Arizona Activist @ $3.10
Boasting impressive fresh up form is Arizona Activist, who owns two wins and a placing from three fresh up starts.
The four-year-old gelding by Written Tycoon didn’t fire at his most recent run, but he needed a spell, so punters should expect a nice return.
Getting 1.5kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 7. (16:30) Enviro Liquid Waste BM58 (1170m)
#12 – Night Colours @ $5.50
Night Colours doesn’t meet much of a field here, so the Payne-trained filly could have an impact.
The three-year-old daughter of Night of Thunder ran second at Warrnambool two back before struggling at Caulfield behind Shadhavar.
Dropping in class should be enough to take her close.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 8. (17:00) Vale Life Member Keith Campbell BM64 (1000m)
#11 – Sotomayor @ $6.50
Sotomayor was too good for them when winning at Bendigo last start, and he could rise through the grades.

Punters get odds worth snapping up.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 9. (17:30) Save the Date Wang Cup BM58 (1400m)
#12 – Shyleah @ $2.60
