- Ceolwulf
- Aeliana

Verry Elleegant Stakes First-Four Tips
We have included five runners for our Verry Elleegant Stakes first-four. Boxing all five selections for a percentage can still result in a huge payout, and you spend what you want.
- Autumn Glow
- Sir Delius
- Ceolwulf
- Aeliana
- Lindermann

Verry Elleegant Stakes Form Guide & Tips
(1) Ceolwulf (Best Roughie – $14.00)
He bled from the mouth fresh up, so that was a complete forgive run. He’s classy at his best, and he could be the forgotten runner at double-figure odds.
He owns four wins from eight starts over the distance, and he should be hitting the line well.
(2) Sir Delius (Best Each Way – $6.50)
He was the Cox Plate and Cups favourite before being put out for the spring. That was disappointing, but safety came first for the high-profile runner.
The former import had an exceptional campaign with two wins and a placing, and he’s good enough to beat Autumn Glow, especially given his toughness.
The $6.50 is a good price, and he’s the logical second pick.
(3) Lindermann ($17.00)
We’re including Lindermann in our first four picks following a good effort for third behind Autumn Glow.
He has a few lengths to make up, but we’re happy to include him at the current price.
(4) Wootton Verni ($126.00)
One of four Waller-trained stayers who are just in the field to make up numbers. He’ll get windburn as they rush past him in the straight.
(5) Soul of Spain ($201.00)
No chance of winning this race. He is a nice enough stayer in the making but wait until he lines up in the Sydney Cup in April.
(6) Valiant King ($201.00)
Disappointing in the Melbourne Cup, following on from a good showing in the Caulfield Cup.
1600m is short of his best, and this is just a pipe opener for the autumn.
(7) Trinity College ($61.00)
Fresh up in Australia after running second in France last time out. He has attracted money at long odds, but it would be a mammoth effort to beat this field.
(8) Autumn Glow (Best Bet – $1.35)
The star of the show. Unbeaten after nine runs, and we have a feeling she has many more wins to come this season.
To be undefeated at the level she has been racing at is superb, and she has similar qualities to UK champion Frankel, who was also unbeaten.
$1.35 is very skinny at Group 1 level, but she’s the best miler in the country.
(9) Aeliana ($10.00)
She battled on gamely for second behind Autumn Glow, but she never looked like winning.
Turning the tables could prove difficult, but she can’t be left out of trifecta and first four picks.
