The Goodwood Form Guide & Tips

(1) Charm Stone ($11.00)

We liked her fresh up win at this track, and she’s worth including in trifecta and first four picks.

She held on over a fast-finishing Ameena, and she’s always hard to beat in tough races, so take the double-figure odds.

(2) Climbing Star ($16.00)

She comes off a disappointing effort behind Charm Stone, which was the first time she missed a win or placing at the track.

We can’t have her based on that effort.

(3) Sghirripa ($41.00)

He has seemingly lost some of his speed, which saw him win seven races. Five of those came at Morphettville, but barrier 13 all but ends his chances of winning.

(4) Watchme Win ($21.00)

A two-time winner this preparation but he needs to find a few lengths to be competitive against this field.

(5) Sir Sway ($46.00)

Solid enough form this campaign but he’s yet to face this level of opposition. That’s why his odds are in the big range.

(6) Stretan Angel ($13.00)

She didn’t get all favours last time out and she could turn that form around. She just needs clean running room to finish off stylishly, and she’s worth including.

Include her at the $13 odds.

(7) Giga Kick (Best Bet – $2.00)

Giga Kick getting in with only 54.5kg is a crime, and the winner of over $12.7 million should be tough to beat.

He didn’t win last prep after going through some injury problems, but his jumpouts have been sound, and he’s a class above this field.

We’re happy to take the even-money odds for the favourite.

(8) Reserve Bank ($6.50)

Money has come for the colt after back-to-back wins at Morphettville. He’s a nice type when he gets time to warm up, and it pays to take notice of the odds.

He’s another runner at a good weight, so include in The Goodwood picks.

(9) Press Down ($101.00)

He is better for two runs back from a spell but we can’t see him winning at Group 1 level.

(10) Volcanic Express ($61.00)

He finished second behind Watchme Win last start, and we don’t rate that form for this race. The odds don’t interest us.

(11) Generosity (Best Roughie – $10.00)

Running third in the Quokka is good form for this race and getting in with 52.5kg makes her a winning threat.

Perth form is solid enough in Adelaide, and she has enough upside to include in Goodwood predictions at double-figure odds.

(12) Ameena (Best Each Way – $9.50)

We love the way she flashed home for second behind Charm Stone, and with a bit of luck, she would have won.

The three-year-old filly has a good record second-up, so she has every chance to win this race.

(13) Prairie Flower ($41.00)

She is a five-time winner at Morphettville, but we can’t see her adding to her record on Saturday.
