Babieca is knocking on the door of a win after two placings at Sha Tin, including running a half-length behind Quick Money.
He’s good enough to turn the tables on the race winner, especially with Zac Purton jumping in the saddle to take over Karis Teetan.
55kg on his back should take him close.
Stake: 2 Units
There isn’t much form in this race, so Call Me Gorgeous could take advantage and score an overdue win.
The four-year-old won at Randwick-Kensington before coming to Hong Kong, and although his form has been average in Asia, the ability is there.
We’re happy to give him another chance against this field.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to improve on two fourths is Honest Witness, who has been well-backed to win both starts, so that’s good to see.
The three-year-old son of Written By should be well-backed to win this race with Hugh Bowman riding, and having race day form bodes well.
Look for a market push with this runner.
Stake: 1 Unit
Packing Hermod ended last preparation with a win at Sha Tin as a $2 favourite, and there shoud be good betting support for him again.
The four-year-old son of Rubick owns five wins from nine starts, with four wins coming at Sha Tin, so he’s a course specialist.
With Purton riding, we can’t leave him out of our picks.
Stake: 3 Units
The four-year-old gelding has been all around the mark to start his career, including a win at Sha Tin three starts back.
He has since added a placing and a sixth, and although he wasn’t at his best last start, this field is slightly easier, so he could take advantage.
Barrier three is ideal and Karis Teetan rides.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to go back-to-back is Fortune Boy, who scored by a half-length at Sha Tin last time out.
The David Hayes-trained gelding gets the services of Purton in the saddle, taking over from Brenton Avdulla, which adds to his appeal.
Punters could get each-way odds on race day.
Stake: 1.5 Units
James McDonald partners with Spirit of Peace, who has mixed form this preparation, but he’s good enough to put this field away.
The son of Harry Angel won at Happy Valley in January before placing at Sha Tin two back behind Sky Deep, which is a good form guide.
Barrier 11 isn’t ideal, but we’re happy to include him in our Sha Tin tips.
Stake: 1.5 Units

Metro Power is having his first start in Hong Kong after recording two placings at Benalla and Moonee Valley.
The three-year-old son of Overshare ran second behind Cash in November, and he has been given time to mature since travelling.
With 54.5kg on his back, he could go close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Gold Master has been a model of consistency with two wins and three placings from his last five starts.
The four-year-old son of The Autumn Sun was only a nose behind the winner at his last two starts, so he could have easily won more races.
He gets in light with 54kg, so he’s an excellent bet.
Stake: 2.5 Units
South Star is gunning for three consecutive wins after scoring by a half-length at Sha Tin last time out.
The three-year-old has been well-backed in both wins, and we expect money to come for him on race night once again.
Barrier three is ideal, so back him with confidence.
Stake: 2 Units
