gobet sha tin racing tips

We have expert betting tips for racing at Sha Tin on Sunday, which features 10 races on Derby Day.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (16:00) Luger Handicap (1600m)

#1 – Robot Star

Robot Star comes off a win and a placing, and he battled to the line nicely last time out.

The four-year-old son of Extreme Choice should get all favours with Zac Purton riding, and the money will likely come on race day.

He’s a good bet in the opening race.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 2. (16:30) Ping Hai Star Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Spicy Standard

Spicy Standard looked good when winning fresh up at Sha Tin by two lengths before placing last time out at Sha Tin.

It’s excellent form for this level of racing, and although drawing wide in barrier 12 isn’t ideal over this distance, he has good tactical pace.

He paid big odds in his first three races, but the odds will be shorter.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (17:00) Furore Handicap (1200m)

#4 – City Gold Banner

City Gold Banner showed ability in Australia when winning at Warwick Farm before being sold to Hong Kong.

The four-year-old son of Starspangledbanner won his Hong Kong debut at Sha Tin before running seventh last start, which is a tidy form guide.

Barrier two with Purton riding adds to his appeal.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (17:30) Sky Darci Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Master Lucky

It has been a good start to the career of Master Lucky, who won on debut at Sha Tin before finishing fourth and second.

The John Size-trained runner has paid nice odds throughout his career, and we expect him to be around the $10 mark on Sunday.

He is worth including in picks as a value pick.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (18:00) Fay Fay Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Conrad Patch

Conrad Patch is gunning for consecutive wins after scoring at Sha Tin, and having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is ideal.

The three-year-old son of Zousain owns a win and two placings from three starts, so there is a lot to like about his record.

Barrier 11 isn’t ideal, but he has time to find cover and win.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (18:30) Werther Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Cool Boy

Cool Boy is shooting for four consecutive wins after scoring his last three wins by just under a length.

The three-year-old son of Per Incanto got the better of a tidy field last time out, but it’s another premium ride for Purton.

He will likely be sent forward from a wide barrier, and we expect him to stick on gamely.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 7. (19:05) Hong Kong Derby (2000m) – GROUP 1

Race 8. (19:45) Designs on Rome Handicap (1800m)

#3 – Liveandletlive

Tony Cruz lines up Liveandletlive, who didn’t fire last time out, but his back-to-back placings prior to that were good.

The five-year-old is only a three-time winner overall, but apart from the odd poor effort, he’s supremely consistent.

He should run at each-way odds, so include him in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (20:20) Rapper Dragon Handicap (1400m)

#5 – Amazing Partners

Amazing Partners comes off back-to-back wins, and although they didn’t come by big margins, he showed good toughness to score.

The four-year-old son of Pierata should get all favours off an inside draw, and we expect money to come for him on race day.

It’s a strong field, but he has plenty of upside.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 10. (20:55) Golden Sixty Handicap (1400m)

#12 – Six Pack

The five-year-old gelding has been around the mark this preparation, including a win three starts back at Sha Tin.

He is a three-time winner overall, and getting in with only 52kg should make him a winning hope on Sunday.

Karis Teetan rides, which adds to our confidence.

Stake: 1 Unit
