gobet sha tin racing tips

We have expert betting tips for racing at Sha Tin on Sunday, which includes 10 races at the weekend meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Hong Kong racing feature, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Sha Tin horse racing tips

Race 1. (18:00) Chak On Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Modest Gentleman

Modest Gentleman comes off a second placing at Happy Valley, and he doesn’t have much of a field to beat here.

The six-year-old son of Slade Power has yet to run on this surface at Sha Tin, but he should enjoy it, and getting an inside barrier is ideal.

Punters should get each-way odds on race day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (18:30) Kwong Tin Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Lunar Dash

Lunar Dash is on debut for Mark Newnham, and getting Zac Purton in the saddle is a big betting guide.

He’s often on the three-year-old runners who have shown the most promise, and the son of Street Sense looks set for a nice debut.

We expect shortening odds, so take the opening price.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 3. (19:00) Chung On Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Only U

Only U is only a two-time winner from 25 starts, but he has been threatening to win another race following a third placing at Sha Tin.

The five-year-old son of Proisir finished two lengths behind the winner as a $12 chance, but he’ll be at shorter odds for this race.

It’s another good ride for Purton, who could have a big day.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (19:30) Lam Tin Handicap (1600m)

#4 – Etalon Or

Etalon Or has been knocking on the door for some time after posting six placings from 11 starts.

The three-year-old son of Heroic Valour didn’t fire as the favourite last start, but he was only four lengths behind the winner.

Barrier four is ideal, so he should be right around the mark.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 5. (20:00) Lai On Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Dancing Classics

Dancing Classics won well on debut at Sha Tin by a length, and he has a good chance of remaining unbeaten.

The four-year-old son of Press Statement paid $2.50 when winning, so punters shouldn’t expect big odds on Sunday.

He only needs luck from a wide draw to go close.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 6. (20:30) Mei Tin Handicap (1400m)

#7 – Max Que

Max Que is getting close to a win after three consecutive placings, and although this is a tough field, he’s good enough to handle this company.

The four-year-old of Akeed Mofeed was only 1.2 lengths behind the winner last start, and that’s an excellent form guide.

He’s worth sticking with at the price.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (21:05) Lee On Handicap (1400m)

#7 – Light Years Charm

Boasting three wins and four placings from nine starts is Light Years Charm, who won by a half-length at $1.50 odds last start.

The four-year-old son of Rubick will likely pay short odds again with Purton riding, and anything around $1.80 is a good price.

He’s worth including in Sha Tin multis.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 8. (21:45) Ping Tin Handicap (1400m)

#8 – Flying Knight

Flying Knight is on debut in Hong Kong after winning at Kyneton in November last year.

The three-year-old son of Toronado should be suited to kicking off over 1400m, and getting in with 54kg off the inside draw is ideal.

Punters should get value each-way odds on race night.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (22:10) On Yam Handicap (1000m)

#2 – La Forza

La Forza is gunning for three consecutive wins after winning in February and March, and he could resume with a big performance.

The three-year-old son of Toronado owns three wins from five starts, and with Purton riding, punters should expect shortening odds.

He’s well worth including in Sha Tin picks.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 10. (22:45) Tin Wan Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Lifeline Express

Lifeline Express is always around the mark with two wins and 10 placings from 19 starts, so he’s worth sticking with against this field.

The John Size-trained gelding won three back at Sha Tin by 1.8 lengths, and anything close to that is good enough to compete here.

Barrier four is enough to see him figure in the finish.

Stake: 2 Units
