Seymour racing tips
—
Breeches ran seventh on debut at Mornington, and although beaten, she should return from a spell in much stronger form.
The three-year-old of Brazen Beau has since looked good at the jumpouts, and that’s why she has been well-backed to score.
Having Blake Shinn riding doesn’t hurt her chances.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Another filly making a return to racing is Therapist, who ran fourth on debut at Ballarat.
The Hawkes-trained daughter of Grunt was only 3.4 lengths behind the winner, and she comes off a jumpout win at Werribee.
She looks ready to show her best, so include her at the current odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to improve on his debut fifth is Testing One Two, who didn’t have all favours after getting caught wide.
The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding by Microphone has been given a couple of weeks to get over that run, and he could show good improvement.
The odds make him a worthwhile wager.
Stake: 1 Unit
Cologne had good betting support on debut when finishing second as a $1.85 chance, so the $2 odds are worth snapping up.
The three-year-old son of I Am Invincible gets all favours from barrier two with Shinn riding, and this looks like his race to lose.
Take the even-money odds before money comes on race day.
Stake: 3 Units
Saltburn ran another placing last time out at Pakenham, and he shouldn’t find this race any harder.
The three-year-old owns five placings from six starts overall, and getting barrier two should see him land in an ideal spot.
We would have been happy with $2.20, so take the value odds.
Stake: 3 Units
Looking to score fresh up is Weapon Clear, who has been around the mark in recent jumpouts.
The four-year-old son of Shooting to Win looked good winning at Bendigo in heavy conditions last prep, and something close to that is good enough.
Getting 1.5kg off his back is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Queen Katrina showed good speed to win at Kyneton before failing at Caulfield behind a smart city field.
That run was to be expected, the three-year-old daughter of Written Tycoon could bounce back with a tidy effort on Tuesday.
Getting 4kg off her back is ideal, and there is money coming for her.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Money has come for Delivering, who could deliver a win for punters against a field lacking form.
The Maher-trained four-year-old has been right around the mark in all three runs this preparation, including a second placing two back at Echuca.
Something similar should be enough to see him score an overdue win.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Punters get value odds for Genteel, who won well three back Seymour, which is a good form guide for this race.
The son of So You Think has since run at The Valley and Ararat, and he was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner last time out.
Slight improvement should be enough to get the job done.
Stake: 1 Unit
On the improve is Jaz Tycoon, who got back to its best form with a third placing at Ballarat last time out.
The five-year-old gelding by Written Tycoon hadn’t been running very well, but he likes the distance, and barrier four should get him a good run in transit.
Take the $9.50 odds as a value price.
Stake: 1 Unit
