Race 1. (13:00) Conference at the Laurels Maiden (1105m)
#8 – Too Darn Cold
Too Darn Cold wasn’t too far away when running fourth in two races last prep, and he’ll only improve with that under his belt.
The three-year-old gelding by Frosted has been primed with a trial at Caulfield, and he could sneak under the radar on Sunday.
We’re happy to stick with him in this race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 2. (13:35) Vale Helen Cantwell Maiden (1105m)
#14 – Villa Royale
Villa Royale is threatening to win a race after numerous placings, including three consecutive placings this preparation.
She owns nine placings overall, and although win punters have been burned, she is running well enough to stick with her.
She has faced harder fields, so now’s the time to strike.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 3. (14:10) Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden (1411m)
#1 – Cologne
On debut for the Hayes stable and he looks ready to fire after some pleasing jumpouts.
The three-year-old son of I Am Invincible comes off three consecutive jumpout wins at Pakenham and Flemington, which adds to his appeal.
Getting the inside draw is another reason to back him.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 4. (14:45) Kwik Tip Bins Maiden (1728m)
#1 – Art ‘N’ Soul
Improving with every run this campaign is Art ‘N’ Soul, who ran fourth at Cranbourne last time out, and that’s a good form guide.
The three-year-old son of Soul Patch is better than his form suggests, and it doesn’t take runners long from the Keys stable to win.
We expect him to finish off strongly over the longer distance.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 5. (15:15) Carlton Draught BM64 (1728m)
#4 – Mount Rinjani
Mount Rinjani is getting close to posting another win after running third at Cranbourne last time out.
The three-year-old son of Grunt should be better for two runs under his belt, and he won’t mind the rise in distance to 1728m.
Take the each-way odds available in an even race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 6. (15:45) Fantasy Cocktails BM64 (1511m)
#6 – Biden Time
Biden Time clocked in when winning at Benalla last start by five lengths, and he could produce the goods again.
The four-year-old son of American Pharoah has seemingly put his bad form behind him, which could result in more wins.
We’re happy to include him in our picks again.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (16:15) Duart Homestead BM70 (1205m)
#6 – Netanyahu
Fresh up form reads well for Netanyahu, and we’re happy to include him in picks at a nice price.
The seven-year-old son of Alamosa owns four wins and 13 placings overall, so there isn’t much wrong with his form.
He should be around the mark against this field.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (16:45) Ladbrokes Form Genius BM58 (1005m)
#9 – Mystery Blonde
We’re backing Mystery Blonde to get back to winning form having looked good earlier this preparation.
The four-year-old mare won at Yarra Valley before getting back to solid form when third at Cranbourne last time out.
Getting the inside draw adds to her appeal.
Stake: 1 Unit
