Millennium Blade wasn’t too far away on debut at Caulfield, which came behind the talented Prince Tycoon.
That form has since been franked against much stronger opposition, so we thought his odds would be much shorter than $4.60.
Luck is needed from out wide, but he’s worth backing.
Stake: 2 Units
Duchess Zou ran second on debut at Ballarat when finishing just behind the winner, which is a good form guide.
The three-year-old filly by Zoustar has been rock-solid in betting markets since opening at $2.70, and that’s another good sign.
Barrier two is ideal, so she should be right around the mark.
Stake: 2 Units
Looking to cap off three consecutive placings is Tassron, who placed at Seymour, Cranbourne, and Pakenham.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding hit the line strongly when placing behind Queensbury last time out, and he only needs luck from a wide barrier.
If he slots in, he should finish over the top of them.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Yes I know is on debut for Team Freedman after winning a jumpout at Cranbourne and finishing second at a Caulfield-Heath trial.
The three-year-old son of So You Think is a well-related type who has been backed in from an opening quote of $3.80.
He’s a risky bet on debut, but there is market confidence, so we’re backing him.
Stake: 1 Unit
Tournelle is a former European who disappointed in her Australian debut when running sixth at Sale. However, she’s good enough to turn that around.
The four-year-old daughter of Sea the Moon won on debut in England, and she comes off a jumpout win at Cranbourne, which is an excellent form guide.
Despite opening at $3.30, we’re happy to back her at better odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Gunning for back-to-back wins is Sioux Spirit, who scored by a nose at Pakenham in a driving finish.
The four-year-old mare by Sioux Nation hasn’t done much wrong throughout her career, including two wins and two placings from seven starts.
Getting 1.5kg off her back is enough to take her close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Sacred Rocks showed good form in her first campaign, including a win at Pakenham on debut before posting consecutive second placings.
The four-year-old daughter of Sacred Falls gets the services of Blake Shinn in the saddle, and that only adds to her chances.
Take the $2.80 odds before money comes for her late.
Stake: 2 Units
Luck is needed from out wide for Dreams Come True, but she should have time to find cover over 1717m.
The daughter of Staphanos was too good for them at Geelong fresh up, which followed a run at Flemington to end her last prep.
This level of racing suits, so she’s worth backing at each-way odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
