Sale Racing Tips for Thursday, July 3rd 2025

We have expert betting tips for racing at Sale on Thursday, which includes nine races at the midweek meeting.

Race 1. (12:30) Ladbrokes Maiden (1200m)

#11 – Angel Ladder @ $3.20

Angel Ladder didn’t fire on debut when running 11^th at Flemington, but this is a sizable drop in class for the two-year-old filly.

She ran 6.1 lengths behind Military Tycoon in March, so she has been given a few months to overcome that disappointing effort.

We’re not surprised by the money coming for her.

Race 2. (13:00) Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden (1100m)

#11 – She’s Speedy @ $4.50

She’s Speedy showed good speed when running second at her first two starts, and she received no favours last time out.

The Jerome Hunter-trained filly looks ready to fire after a couple of jumpouts, which included a win and a placing.

That form should take her close, and $4.50 is a solid each-way price.

Race 3. (13:30) Ladbrokes SRM in Multis Maiden (1400m)

#3 – Smother @ $7.50

Smother has been backed and beaten to start his career, but we’re prepared to give him another chance at the odds.

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding resumed with a sixth at Hawkesbury, and he comes to Victoria with his eyes set on easier racing.

Given the $7.50 odds, we’re happy to include him in our picks as a value bet.

Race 4. (14:00) Ladbrokes Quick Multi Maiden (2200m)

#9 – Rotating Soul @ $1.55

Rotating Soul has been a tough bet for punters throughout her career, but we’re not shocked by the short odds.

She is a talented filly by Soul Patch, and it’s only a matter of time before she caps off placings with a win, and it should come here.

Include her in horse racing multi bet picks at the price.

Race 5. (14:30) Ladbrokes Form Genius BM64 (2200m)

#4 – Tishman @ $2.40

We liked the way Tishman won at Sale last start when scoring by 2.3 lengths, and another win is possible on Thursday.

His main rival is The Storyteller, who drops in distance, so Tishman should have enough speed to put this field away over 2200m.

Take the odds as we expect money to come for him on race day.

Race 6. (15:00) Ladbrokes Mates Mode Pots BM64 (1600m)

#4 – The Western Front @ $6.00

The Western Front has been tough to follow recently, but with two wins and two placings from eight starts, the talent is there.

The Lindsay Park-trained runner showed a good turn-of-foot to win a couple of races early, and anything close to that form would be good enough.

Barrier 16 should see him drop back and finish off stylishly.

Race 7. (15:30) Ladbrokes Odds Surge BM64 (1400m)

#2 – Autumn Storm @ $4.20

Despite the odds for Autumn Storm drifting after opening at $3.40, we’re putting the four-year-old gelding on top.

The Robbie Griffiths-trained gelding gets all favours from an inside draw, and he’s good enough to handle this field at each-way odds.

His best form is good enough to handle this field.

Race 8. (16:00) Ladbrokes Punter Assist BM64 (1400m)

#2 – Whateley @ $4.80

Whateley didn’t fire at Sandown last time out, but that run followed consecutive wins at Cranbourne, which are good form guides.

The Busuttin/Young-trained gelding deserves another chance, especially with 2kg coming off his back, and punters get each-way odds.

Include him in picks as a value runner on Thursday.

Race 9. (16:30) Ladbrokes Fast Payouts BM64 (1100m)

#2 – Mansiere @ $6.00

Mansiere ran well fresh up at Warrnambool, and although beaten last time out, he’s good enough to bounce back in Victoria.

The four-year-old son of Brave Smash owns two wins and eight placings from 19 starts, and he’s yet to finish worse than second at Sale.

That form bodes well, and he’s worth including in picks at the odds.
