Rosehill Guineas Form Guide & Tips

(1) Observer (Best Each Way – $2.60)

We have the Rosehill Guineas being a race in two, and although Observer isn’t paying each-way odds, he’s the biggest threat to the favourite.

His form throughout his career has been stellar, and the only reason we’re not putting him on top is because he’s going the other way around.

If this race was run in Melbourne, he might get the nod ahead of Autumn Boy.

(2) Autumn Boy (Best Bet – $2.20)

He was no match for a quality filly in Sheza Alibi last time out, but he was always going to come on with the run.

This is his grand final this preparation, and he should be right up to it to. We fancy his chances of winning the Rosehill Guineas, and James McDonald can do no wrong at present.

The $2.20 odds are fair from bookmakers, so put him on top.

(3) Deal Done Fast ($23.00)

Only fair when fifth last time out, and although he ran good late sectionals, they went hard enough up front to ensure that happened.

We can’t see them going overly quick up front on Saturday, which could make it too tough for Deal Done Fast.

(4) Green Spaces (Best Roughie – $12.00)

A live chance at double-figure odds to cause an upset. He is better for two runs back from a spell, and we liked his closing sectionals in the Randwick Guineas.

This race should be right up his alley, and it’s wide open outside of the two favourites. We see him filling the third or fourth spot.

(5) Victorious Spirit ($12.00)

He finished off excellently behind Observer at Flemington, and that should be a good form guide. Another 100m and he gets Observer, so the $12 odds could be considered a good price.

We’re happy to include him in first four bets, as he still needs to improve to win at Group 1 level.

(6) Federalist ($11.00)

Money has come for Federalist after finishing second behind Sixties last week, but the 2000m might not be his best distance.

He didn’t fire over 2000m last preparation, so going from 1500m to 2000m could flatten him. He goes in first four picks, but the $11 odds aren’t enticing.

(7) One Step Closer ($151.00)

Better when third last time out, but this is a step up too far, hence the triple-figure odds.

(8) Bingi ($27.00)

It has shown good speed at times, but the pressure of this race could be too much. The $27 odds are shorter than expected, so they should drift throughout the week.

(9) Are You Kidding ($201.00)

We can’t see him winning at massive. Only nine runners in the field, so good on connections for giving it go, but a win would shock the world.
