Ranvet Stakes Form Guide & Tips
(1) Zarakem ($71.00)
Zarakem might need more run under his belt after finishing eighth fresh up. It’s a small but talented field and he’ll likely struggle.
(2) Fawkner Park ($11.00)
There has been some specking for Fawkner Park, who is a first four chance. He is a three-time winner at Rosehill and five-time winner at the distance, so the stats read well.
If he good enough to beat Via Sistina? No, but he’s good enough to run in the money at value odds.
(3) Lindermann (Best Roughie – $9.50)
He doesn’t run at roughie odds, but despite being beaten last week as the $1.80 favourite, punters get a chance of redemption.
He didn’t enjoy being in front, and although he was ridden like the best horse in the race, he’s better with cover. We’re not leaving him out of our Ranvet Stakes picks.
(4) Al Mubhir (Best Each Way – $7.50)
The interest runner in the field and Europeans have a good record in this race. He is a four-time winner and he comes off a third placing behind Sparks Fly.
It doesn’t usually matter about their form, the Europeans are tough to beat, and William Haggas knows which runners to bring to Australia.
We can’t leave him out at the each-way price.
(5) Golden Path ($41.00)
His last three efforts have been disappointing. We don’t think he’s up to this level of racing, and we’re not surprised the odds.
(6) Via Sistina (Best Bet – $1.40)
She’s the best horse in Australia and she showed good toughness to win last time out. That’s a good form guide for this race, which is more suitable.
The 2024 Cox Plate winner gets all favours in the run with James McDonald riding and we can’t see her being beaten at the short odds.
(7) Full Count Felicia ($10.00)
Another interesting runner, having her first start for Chris Waller. She raced at Del Mar last time out in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mares, and her prior form came in Canada.
It’s unusual to see an American runner in Australia, but she’s here for a reason, so we’re happy to include her in first four picks.
