Iceman wasn’t too far away when running third at Rosehill last time out, which should be a tidy form guide for the opening race.
The four-year-old son of Rubick owns three wins and eight placings overall, and he won his only start at Randwick, so getting back to this track is ideal.
We’re giving him another chance at this level.

Travolta is nearing a winning performance after two good runs this campaign, including a third placing at Rosehill last time out.
The five-year-old son of Lope de Vega owns six wins from 19 starts overall, and he’s still an underrated stayer in the making.
Having James McDonald in the saddle helps, so include him in picks.

We didn’t mind the run of Chayan in the Blue Diamond, and she could get off the mark in Sydney with a win on Saturday.
The two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible is looking for a spot in the Golden Slipper, and she is deserving after running well for second on debut behind Streisand, who subsequently won the Blue Diamond.
It’s another good ride for McDonald, who could have a big day.
Stake: 1 Unit
Gunning for consecutive wins is Stretan Ruler, who couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring at Rosehill last time out.
The Phillip Stokes-trained colt put them away to score by 3.5 lengths at Group 2 level, and he has quickly become a Golden Slipper hopeful.
We’re happy to follow him based on that run, so take the current odds.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Beadman didn’t fire at Flemington last time out at Group 1 level, but he looked like an exciting type prior to that.
The three-year-old colt by Snitzel owns two wins and three placings from six starts, and if there is any sting out of the ground, it will suit him perfectly.
He could return with a big performance, and he’s a colt with a bright future.

We liked the way Polymnia ran through the line when finishing sixth at Randwick, and she was always going to improve with the run under her belt.
The four-year-old mare by Dundeel will relish the rise in distance to the mile, and carrying only 53kg is enough to take her close.
She’s an underrated type, so include her in picks against a tough field.
Stake: 1 Unit
Group 1 class is with Giga Kick, who wasn’t too far away when running fifth fresh up behind Tentyris at Flemington.
The former Everest winner looked good last campaign when winning back-to-back races, and another win isn’t too far away for the nine-time winner.
Any easing of the surface plays into his hands, so he’s the one they must get past.
