Randwick-Kensington racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:45) Lone Pine Maiden (1400m)
#8 – She Rex @ $1.65
We’re happy to include the short odds in horse racing multis for She Rex, who is knocking on the door.
The Ciaron Maher-trained filly owns four placings from four starts, including a third placing at Warwick Farm last time out.
That form stacks up well, so she’s the clear top pick.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 2. (13:20) The Passchendaele Maiden (1250m)
#5 – Maori Chief @ $2.80
Punters have backed and beaten Maori Chief a few times, but the talent is there, and this race is there for the taking.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding owns three placings from five starts, and he was unlucky not to win earlier in his career.
$2.80 is a good price, and it should firm on race day.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (13:55) The Somme Classic BM64 (1250m)
#2 – Engine Room @ $2.35
Engine Room justified his short odds last time out at $1.60, and getting $2.35 is a much better price this time around.
The three-year-old son of Super Seth held off Manukau, who is a nice type for James Cummings, so the form checks out.
Zac Lloyd is riding very well, which adds to our confidence.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 4. (14:30) Home Front BM78 (1800m)
#4 – Misterkipchoge @ $4.50
A runner overdue a win is Misterkipchoge, who likes to get back in the run and work home stylishly.
The four-year-old won his only start at Randwick-Kensington, so getting back to this track could be the catalyst for a win.
Kerrin McEvoy rides, and the each-way odds are attractive.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 5. (15:05) Anzac Day Cup BM78 (2400m)
#6 – Jack Duggan @ $7.50
Each-way value is with Jack Duggan, who has been all around the mark this campaign, including a win at Scone.
The seven-year-old son of Jack Milton is an eight-time winner overall, and he finished third at his only start at Randwick-Kensington.
Getting the inside draw is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 6. (15:40) The Kokoda BM72 (1250m)
#2 – Iconic Treasure @ $4.60
Iconic Treasure is another each-way chance, and he has been threatening to win a race this season.
The Joe Pride-trained gelding ran second at Wyong two back behind Imperial Force, which is a tidy enough form guide.
He has drawn well, so he’ll get every chance in the run.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (16:15) Battle of Fromelles BM64 (1400m)
#8 – Eraantyva @ $7.50
We’re happy to include Eraantyva at the current odds, and she has good improvement to come.
She didn’t fire when eighth at Warwick Farm last time out, but she won her only second-up start, so she needed the run.
Getting 2kg off her back should take her close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (16:50) The Gallipoli BM78 (1400m)
#1 – Edited By @ $9.50
Seeking consecutive wins is Edited By, who scored by just under a length at Wyong last time out.
The four-year-old son of Written By runs at better odds than we expected, so we’re happy to take the odds available.
3kg comes off his back, so include him in picks.
Stake: 2 Units
