The three-year-old son of Sandbar is a past winner at Randwick and a three-time winner overall, so he shouldn’t take much longer to win a race.

He gets 3kg off his back to help with the weight.

#2 – Satin Stiletto @ $8.50

Satin Stiletto is only a one-time winner, but she is much better than advertised after posting two placings this preparation.

The four-year-old mare by Written Tycoon placed behind Cougars and Kingdom Underseige, which is a solid form guide.

A 2kg claimer rides, which adds to her appeal.

He ran in the New Zealand Derby last year, and although his form in Australia hasn’t been electric, not much has gone his way either.

Pembrey is an interesting runner, who could firm in Golden Slipper markets with a win on Saturday.

She couldn’t have been more impressive when winning by 5.5 lengths on debut at Eagle Farm, and McDonald takes over the riding duties.

She could be a smart type in the making, so include her in picks.

Race 5. (14:50) Catanach’s Jewellers Skyline Stakes (1200m)

#4 – Warwoven @ $2.15

Warwoven is unbeaten from two starts, and although nothing has gone his way after being scratched from the Magic Millions, he could return in fine order.

The Bjorn Baker-trained colt won by 3.3 lengths last time out, and he’s the current Golden Slipper favourite.

The inside draw is ideal, and he could put them away.

Race 6. (15:25) Proven Thoroughbreds Guy Walter Stakes (1400m)

#1 – Manaal @ $3.10

Manaal has class on her side after posting six wins and four placings from 17 starts.

The four-year-old mare by Tassort comes off a second placing behind Weeping Woman, who is on fire this season.

59kg is a leveler, but she should run close.

The five-year-old gelding has been tough to bet on throughout his career, but this is his best chance to post an overdue win.

He comes off placings behind Lindermann and Vivy Air, and there is no such class in this race, so he could take advantage.

The inside draw is ideal, and it’s another good ride for McDonald.

Race 10. (17:55) United Resource Management (1200m)

#3 – Well Timed @ $17.00

Value is with Well Timed, who owns two wins and three placings fresh up, and he should be ready to produce a good effort.

The five-year-old son of Nicconi is also a three-time winner at Randwick and has an excellent distance record, so the stats read well.

It’s a tough race, but he has enough ability to win.
