He could struggle to keep up with the pace on Saturday.

She owns 12 wins from 23 starts, including a record win in the Cox Plate. She dug deep to score her last two, and she’s the best horse in the race.

James McDonald rides from the inside draw, and he’ll look to get her to the outside at some point and drive home over the top.

$1.80 is short, but she’s the testing material.

We priced Fangirl at around $12. She was a good thing beaten last time out, and only the rise to 2000m is against her.

If she gets a soft run, she could emerge out of the pace with a big late burst, so take the generous odds. Punters should keep in mind that she’s nominated for the Queen of the Turf, so if she runs there, omit her from your selections.

There is some moisture in the surface, which dents her chances. We haven’t found room for her this time around.
