The three-year-old filly by Squamosa owns four placings from eight starts, so we’re not sure why she’s a $9 chance to beat this maiden field.

#11 – Audio Pop Cam @ $2.60

Looking to justify favouritism is Audio Pop Cam, who is on debut for the McEvoy stable.

The two-year-old filly by Hanseatic comes off a trial win at Avoca, and that should hold her in good stead for this race.

Take the $2.60 odds before more money comes for her on race day.

Race 3. (14:00) Frankston Sand Soil & Mix Maiden (1400m)

Star Angel has been right around the mark with two second placings from three starts this preparation and it shouldn’t be long until she wins.

The Freedman-trained three-year-old was a narrow margin behind the winner last time out, and that’s a good betting guide.

She is worth including in picks at the current odds.

Race 4. (14:30) Gembrook-Cockatoo Club Maiden (1600m)

#2 – Clench @ $6.50

Clench is getting close to posting a win after finishing second last time out, which should be a good form guide.

The three-year-old son of Proisir has experience on the track, so he’s good enough to beat the odds-on favourite.

Getting the inside draw could be enough to get the edge.

#3 – Three Point Turn @ $1.75

Looking for back-to-back wins is Three Point Turn, who scored comfortable at Pakenham Synthetic last time out.

The three-year-old son of Star Turn opened at $2.70 before firming considerably, which isn’t too surprising considering his win.

Include him in multis at the current price.

Race 6. (15:30) Fruithaul BM64 (1200m)

#3 – King Tut @ $4.20

King Tut was too good for them on debut when winning at Pakenham by two lengths, and a repeat of that effort could be enough.

The three-year-old son of American Pharoah ran at $6 odds on that occasion, and punters still get value odds for this race.

It’s a harder race, but he should be right in the mix.

Race 7. (16:00) Same Race Multi BM64 (1600m)

#2 – Super Solar @ $4.20

Each-way odds are with Super Solar, who doesn’t know how to run a bad race this preparation.

The seven-year-old son of Makfi owns two wins and four second placings from his last six starts, which is tough to overlook.

This race is there to win, so we’re happy to back him.

Race 8. (16:30) Thanks Deb, Sue & Kate BM70 (1400m)

#2 – Strike Gold @ $7.50

Strike Gold showed good pace to win three back at Ballarat, and something close to that run would be good enough.

The four-year-old son of Iffraaj is a five-time winner overall, including four wins on synthetic tracks, so the ability is there.

Getting the inside draw is another positive, so put him on top.
