Orange racing tips
—
It should be an opening race win for Flashy Icon, who followed up a win with three consecutive placings.
The five-year-old son of Prized Icon owns two wins and seven placings overall, and we’re not surprised to see money come for him.
Take the $1.65 and include him in multis.
Stake: 3 Units
Tigletta looks to cap off four consecutive placings with a win, and this looks like the race to do it.
The three-year-old filly by Capitalist ran third at Wyong last time out, and after opening at $4.50, there has been strong money for her.
We expect her to be fighting out the finish.
Stake: 1.5 Units
It could pay to overlook the overall record of La Chaparron, but there is improvement to come.
The five-year-old ran better when fourth at Orange last time out, where she made good ground from the back, and that’s enough to include her in picks.
Take the each-way odds in what should be a close race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Looking to get back to winning form is Tommy Flyer, who didn’t lose any admirers when running second at Kembla Grange.
The five-year-old son of Super One owns three wins and four placings from 10 starts overall, and he doesn’t mind running on a wet track.
He’s well-weighted, so punters should be confident.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Trapeze Legend showed good speed when winning back-to-back races last preparation, and we’re hoping another win is coming.
The four-year-old hasn’t fired at his last three starts, but the easing of the surface will only help his cause, as all his form has come in the wet.
That’s a good sign, and bookmakers haven’t caught on.
Stake: 2 Units
Take the Chance wasn’t far away from the prize at Narromine when running second, and that should be a good form guide.
The five-year-old mare by Shalaa was a short margin behind the winner as a $16 chance, but we’re not shocked by the betting support here.
She only needs luck from a tricky draw to go close.
Stake: 1 Unit
Punters get each-way odds for Ditterich, who hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career, including three wins and seven placings.
The five-year-old son of Exceed and Excel won at Albury earlier this prep before struggling at Randwick, but his best form comes at this level.
Money has come since markets opened, so include him for value.
Stake: 1.5 Units
