Race 1. (12:35) Winning Edge Presentations Maiden (1000m)
#6 – Sparklenglitter @ $2.60
Sparklenglitter has shown promise at the trials, including a win and placing at Goulburn and Canberra.
The four-year-old mare by All Too Hard opened at $2.10, and there hasn’t been much support since, but she’s still a good winning hope.
We’re happy to take the risk and put her on top.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 2. (13:10) Endeavour Meats Maiden (1280m)
#2 – Rail Trail @ $4.50
Looking to cap off consecutive placings with a win is Rail Trail, who ran at $1.50 odds at Wellington last time out.
Punters get a better price this time around, and although there is more depth to this field, he should only be fitter for the run under his belt.
The favourite won’t be easy to beat but Rail Trail runs at value.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (13:45) Kennards Hire BM58 (1000m)
#4 – Pleasurize @ $2.90
Pleasurize is unbeaten after two starts, and she has shown enough speed to put this field away.
The three-year-old daughter of Winning Rupert won by 2.5 lengths on debut before winning by a half-length last time out.
It’s good form, and she gets 2kg off her back to help.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 4. (14:20) Sabin Subedi Cup Day Sprint (1000m)
#5 – Wilbury @ $3.60
Not everything went right for Wilbury at Wellington, and he will appreciate running on a firmer track.
The Brett Robb-trained gelding is unbeaten in two starts at Orange, and he owns six wins overall, so he’s the class act of this field.
Take the $3.60, as that’s the highest price he should get to.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 5. (14:55) The Ophir Hotel BM66 (1300m)
#11 – Exotic Dancer @ $2.70
Exotic Dancer looked good when winning twice last campaign, with the wins coming at Canberra and Bathurst.
The speedy filly for Gary Portelli resumes with a trial win at Warwick Farm under her belt, so she looks ready to fire at this level.
Dropping to 55.5kg makes her tough to get past.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 6. (15:35) On-Trac AG Showcase C1 (1400m)
#1 – Written Gold @ $3.20
Money has come for Written Gold, who won on debut at Wyong by 2.8 lengths before running well enough in two subsequent runs.
Punters expected more from him last time out at Goulburn, but we’re prepared to give him another chance at this level.
61kg is a big weight, but he could start at much shorter odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 7. (16:15) Pirtek Orange Gold Cup (2100m)
#2 – Rematch @ $5.00
Rematch owns five wins and eight placings from 17 starts, and as the betting suggests, he could be back to his best on Friday.
The five-year-old son of Real Impact didn’t enjoy the heavy track at Scone, and his form on top of the ground is much better.
Inside draw and every chance to win.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 8. (16:55) Orange Motor Group BM58 (1600m)
#1 – Extravagant Choice @ $4.00
Extravagant Choice is already a two-time winner this preparation, and he’s good enough to win again.
The five-year-old son of Extreme Choice gets a valuable 4kg off his back to help with the big weight, which could make the difference.
Punters get each-way odds to include in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
