A good winner three back, but his last two starts were poor. Big odds, and rightfully so.

(2) To Bravery Born ($81.00)

Another runner who scored three back, but his last two efforts weren’t good. A win would surprise.

(3) Well Written (Best Bet – $1.20)

The thoroughbred everyone has come to see. An absolute star in the making, and this could be her last race in New Zealand for some time.

She is a gun, and with Yulong buying into her, she will tackle big races in Australia when the time comes.

$1.20 is short, but they won’t beat her.

(4) Affirmative Action ($23.00)

Only fair last time out, but he is worth another chance based on his prior form. He could settle close to the speed and kick well, and the $23 odds are generous.

He could grip on for a top four finish.

(5) La Dorada ($14.00)

Punters are never sure what La Dorada will turn up. However, the $14 is a good price, and there isn’t much depth outside the first few favourites.

We’re happy to include him in picks at the odds.

(6) Asakura ($19.00)

Another runner we’re not leaving out is the Australian. Asakura comes off a second placing behind Sixties, which is an excellent form guide.

Leave the Aussies out at your peril, and he’s paying value odds.

(7) Zivou ($81.00)

He looked good when producing back-to-back wins, but his latest effort was only fair. Improvement is needed to figure in the finish.

(8) He Who Dares ($23.00)

Trying hard this season to win a race after consecutive placings. Opie Bosson rides, but there are better bets in the NZB Kiwi.

(9) Panther (Best Roughie – $23.00)

He could have beaten Belle Cheval last time out if he got a better trip in transit. It was a good effort to finish second, and the $23 odds are generous.

$3.60 to place is an excellent bet, so include him in picks.

(10) L’Aigle Noir ($61.00)

Stablemate to Panther who also didn’t get much luck behind Belle Cheval. Big odds, and not the worst first four inclusion to boost payouts.

(11) Belle Cheval (Best Each Way – $10.00)

Tough to leave her out after beating a nice field last time out at Ellerslie. She owns three wins and two placings, so that form stacks up well.

Another good place chance, and it could pay to watch for late betting moves.

(12) War Princess ($81.00)

Her best form came against much easier fields, and she should struggle.

(13) Lollapalooza ($41.00)

She was showing consistent form before running seventh last start. Looking to others in the NZB Kiwi.

(14) Convinced ($126.00)

We’re not convinced. Likely to struggle.

(15) Tomahawk ($151.00)

Needs luck to get into the field, but the odds tell the story.

(16) Bolli Belle ($81.00)

Unbeaten in two runs, but this is a massive rise in class. Struggles to make the final field.

(17) Burnerphone ($151.00)

Beaten in an easier race last Saturday. No chance.

Needs a miracle just to make the field.
