Koning hasn’t been far off producing a win this preparation, and he comes off a second placing at Hawkesbury.
The five-year-old gelding by Kingman is only a one-race winner, but he has more ability than most thoroughbreds in this race.
Barrier two is ideal, so back him to beat the odds-on favourite.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to cap off three consecutive placings is You Count, who is threatening to win after placing at Ballarat, Moruya, and Sapphire Coast.
The four-year-old mare by Rich Enuff hasn’t been facing overly tough fields, but there isn’t much depth to this field either.
The odds are warranted, and they’re likely to shorten.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Looking to score a debur win is Medeia, who hasn’t been overly good at the trials, but there has been a solid betting push.
The Danielle Seib-trained filly is bred for speed by Brutal, and she might not have been asked for much in those trials.
It’s an open field, so she could make a winning start.
Stake: 1 Unit
Boasting a consistent record is Caravanserai, who owns two wins and three placings form his last six starts.
The four-year-old son of Blue Point comes off placings at Goulburn and Canberra, and we thought he would have been the outright favourite.
We’re taking the each-way odds available with bookmakers.
Stake: 1.5 Units
It’s not often you see an 11-year-old still racing, but Vainstream is hoping to defy his age on Monday afternoon.
The nine-time winner keeps producing good races, including a second placing at Wagga last time out, and he was considered good enough to run at Rosehill two back.
2kg comes off his back off the inside draw, so he should run well.
Stake: 1 Unit
Bobs Back won earlier this preparation at Goulburn in heavy conditions, and although beaten since, he should enjoy this level of racing.
The four-year-old son of Hallowed Crown prefers wet tracks, and he doesn’t get one, but getting 3kg off his back is ideal, and he should run well.
Given the odds, we’e happy to include him in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Getting close to posting a win is Roonami, who comes off three consecutive placings at Canberra and Wagga.
The three-year-old filly by Microphone gets in well at the weights, and she has enough speed to beat a moderate maiden field.
She could firm into favouritism when they jump.
Stake: 2 Units
Callenum Thru didn’t fire at Canberra last start, but her effort to win two back is the best form guide for this race.
The five-year-old daughter of Cable Bay hasn’t done much wrong throughout her career, including two wins and two placings.
She is the top pick to win the last race on the card.
Stake: 1.5 Units
