Boasting two placings from three starts this campaign is Colorado Sun, who could take advantage of a moderate maiden field.

The three-year-old son of Toronado placed at Wagga fresh up before placing at Canberra last time out, so the form checks out.

Race 3. (14:45) The Country Club St Georges Basin BM58 (1200m)

#5 – Brutal Eyes

Matthew Kelley lines up Brutal Eyes, who owns two wins and three placings from nine starts.

The four-year-old mare by Brutal scored at Canberra last time out, which should be a good form guide for racing at Nowra.

Alysha Collett rides, and she’s kicking home plenty of winners.

Race 4. (15:20) Rowan McLean Eadie Memorial BM74 (1000m)

#3 – Tai Lung

Tai Lung is unbeaten in two attempts at Nowra, and that’s his best asset for Sunday’s race.

The seven-year-old gelding by Fighting Sun comes off a second placing at Kembla Grange, so he’s close to getting back to his best.

Punters could get each-way odds on race day, in what is an even field.

Race 5. (15:55) Pelican Rocks Cafe C1 (1100m)

#9 – Brave Xena

Brave Xena won well on debut at Nowra, and having form on the track only adds to her appeal.

The Luke Pepper-trained filly by Saxon Warrior handled the conditions best, and rising in class shouldn’t worry her.

Race 6. (16:29) Wobbegongs WSC BM66 (1400m)

#10 – Bellarata

It always pays to take notice when the Waterhouse/Bott stable lines up a runner here, especially one coming off a win at Nowra.

The four-year-old mare by Pierata won by 1.3 lengths in a field of three, and although it wasn’t a big field, she did it well.

Zac Wadick is riding well, so include her in picks.

Race 7. (17:10) Solomon Motor Group Maiden (1200m)

#10 – Firepop

Firepop ran well for second fresh up at Nowra, and although her form since has been only fair, those runs came at Warwick Farm and Canterbury.

Getting back to Nowra could be enough to see her score an overdue win, and it’s not the strongest maiden field we’ve ever seen.

Barrier four with Collett riding adds to our confidence.
