Race 1. (12:50) NZB Weanlings Maiden (900m)
#2 – Impact Zone @ $2.45
Impact Zone didn’t shirk the task when running a narrow second placing on debut at Hawkesbury, and he’s ready to win.
The two-year-old colt by Exceed and Excel had good betting support on that occasion, so it’s no surprise to see the money come for him.
He’s drawn well, which adds to his appeal.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (13:25) Horsepower Feeds & Supplements Maiden (900m)
#3 – Zoucat @ $4.40
Hawker Hall won’t be easy to beat, but there is no value with the $1.35 odds, so we’re backing Zoucat to win on debut.
The three-year-old filly for Ciaron Maher ran third in a recent trial at Kembla Grange, and she could hit the ground running on Wednesday.
The each-way odds are worth including in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (14:00) New Era Technology Maiden (1850m)
#5 – So You Ready @ $35.00
So You Ready runs at big odds following a fourth at Port Macquarie, but the son of So You Think should run much better over distance.
The rise from 1500m to 1850m is ideal, and we think he’s going under the radar against this level of opposition.
He’s bred to stay, so ignore his sprinting form and stick with him.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 4. (14:35) Davali Yearlings Maiden (1250m)
#4 – Righteous Legend @ $2.40
Righteous Legend showed good form last preparation without winning, and it shouldn’t take him long to post a win.
The three-year-old son of Justify ran fourth at Wyong and third at Newcastle before spelling, and he has looked good in two recent trials.
After opening at $2.90, his odds have firmed, so take the current price before the odds shorten.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 5. (15:10) Tab App C1 (1250m)
#5 – Gone to Cape York @ $6.00
Gone to Cape York let punters down when finishing seventh as a $2.20 chance at Wyong, but he’s good enough to bounce back.
The son of Street Boss looked much better when winning on debut at Nowra at $1.70, so getting $6 odds are tough to overlook.
Take the odds as he’s starting to attract attention.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (15:45) A-Plus Contracting Poly Welding Midway Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Caltsar @ $1.70
Caltsar is on debut after looking good at the trials, and we’re not surprised to see the early money come for him.
The three-year-old son of Calyx scored both trial wins by a length, and there is plenty of hype around the Nathan Doyle-trained runner.
Doyle is on fire, so Caltsar could add to his success.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 7. (16:20) The Adviser Collective BM68 (1500m)
#7 – Mischievous Molly @ $11.00
Mischievous Molly runs at value odds, and she’s capable of bouncing back from a poor effort at Muswellbrook.
The five-year-old mare by Sooboog looked much better when winning at Taree two back, and she has yet to finish worse than second over the distance.
Getting 3kg off her back adds to her appeal.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (16:55) The Prince of Merewether Provincial BM64 (1850m)
#5 – Hardpoint @ $3.00
Hardpoint didn’t show much in a tough race at Rosehill last start but that came at Group 2 level, so this is a massive drop in class.
That run followed placings at Kembla Grange and Gosford, so his foot is on the till, and this race is there for the taking.
Take the $3 odds before more money comes for him.
Stake: 2 Units
