We have expert betting tips for the New Zealand racing cards this Saturday at Riccarton and Tauranga.
There is always great value at the NZ horse racing meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Riccarton racing tips
—
Punters get value odds for Islebefine, who owns two wins from her last four starts, including last time out at Riccarton.
It was a good win, and although it came on synthetic tracks, she has shown form in heavy ground when placing last preparation.
Given the odds, we’re happy to back her.
Stake: 1 Unit
Taimate Diva looks to cap off consecutive second placings with a win, and the small field only helps her chances.
The six-year-old mare by Telperion loves racing in heavy conditions with 12 starts for two wins and seven placings, so the conditions are ideal.
4kg comes off her back, so she’s the one to beat.
Stake: 2 Units
Cool Aza Rene didn’t enjoy the heavy track when winning at Wingatui, but class was enough to get her the win narrowly over El Vaquero.
That will likely be the case again on Saturday as the Te Akau-raced filly looks for her fourth win from five attempts.
Hayley Hassman is riding well and she takes 3kg off her back, which is a bonus, so include her in multi bets.
Stake: 3 Units
Looking to remain unbeaten is Chlobon, who won on debut at Phar Lap Raceway by an impressive 2.5 lengths.
The Danny Crozier-trained filly had some betting support on that occasion at $9.50, and we’re not shocked by the shorter odds here.
We’re happy to take them as she could be a nice winter type.
Stake: 2.5 Units

Tauranga racing tips
—
Bradley comes off consecutive second placings at Matamata and Te Rapa, which is good form for this level of racing.
The three-year-old son of Belardo has a placing at Tauranga, which is ideal, and the track should suit his racing pattern.
Sam Collett returns from Australia and she’s looking to pick up a win.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Hoping to remain unbeaten is Macallan, who was too good for them on debut at Tauranga when scoring by 1.3 lengths.
The three-year-old now takes on race winners, so it won’t be easy, but he appears to have more upside than most in this field.
The stable is firing, and so is the Brazilian jockey.
Stake: 1 Unit
On debut is Adamas, who has been right around the mark at the trials, and they often start well for the Chad Ormsby stable.
The three-year-old son of U S Navy Flag is bred to handle the wet conditions, and getting 4kg off his back could make all the difference.
Punters get value odds to snap up.
Stake: 1 Unit
Cleat is a proven winter galloper after winning at Te Rapa in heavy conditions last start by just under two lengths.
The Danica Guy-trained son of Rios is a three-time winner over the distance, and he’s good enough to put this field away.
4kg comes off and money has come for him.
Stake: 1.5 Units
