We have expert betting tips for the New Zealand racing cards this Saturday at Trentham and Pukekohe.
There is always great value at the NZ horse racing meetings, and we have our best bets across the two cards.
Trentham racing tips
—
Looking to score back-to-back wins is The Dirty One, who scored on debut at New Plymouth.
The three-year-old filly by Derryn scored by 3.3 lengths, so it was an impressive win, and that bodes well for her future.
Barrier two is ideal, and NZ’s leading rider is in the saddle.
Stake: 1.5 Units
The five-year-old mare is improving with time, including a second placing at Rotorua, which is a good form guide at Trentham.
She gets in with 55kg on her back, and George Rooke is riding in good form, so we’re happy to include her in our picks.
Money has come for her, so she is worth backing.
Stake: 1 Unit
Leica Pearl looked good on debut when scoring an upset win, and she could win at double-figure odds again.
The four-year-old mare by Per Incanto should only improve with that run under her belt, and the odds make her a worthwhile play.
Take the $11 odds as a value bet.
Stake: 1 Unit
Money has come for Carter John, who placed at Waverley and Wanganui this preparation, which is solid form.
The five-year-old son of Derryn will need some luck from a wide draw, but he is good enough to cross and sit handy to the pace.
He is worth including in picks at the current odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units

Pukekohe racing tips
—
Dance the Night improved to run second at Pukekohe last time out, and getting another run at the track is ideal.
Money has come for the three-year-old filly by Almanzor, who is bred to win a few races, and this race is right up her alley.
55kg is ideal, so put her clearly on top.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Waiata turned her form around with a fresh up win at Te Aroha, and she could sing her way to another win.
The four-year-old daughter of Vancouver gets 1kg coming off her back, which isn’t big, but it helps when rising in grade.
Punters get fair odds at $6.50, so she’s a value bet.
Stake: 1 Unit
High Country can be tough to back consistently, but we’re happy to include him in horse racing picks.
The five-year-old son of Mongolian Khan ran second two back at New Plymouth, and it should be better with experience at Pukekohe.
Getting 3kg off his back should be enough to take him close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Seeking back-to-back wins is High Emotion, who was too good for them at Rotorua last time out.
The four-year-old mare by Ace High is bred to keep winning races, and she only needs luck from a wide barrier draw.
The odds are $3.30 because of the draw, so take the value.
Stake: 1.5 Units
