Narromine racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:05) Thank You Narromine Maiden (1300m)
#5 – Grandini @ $3.30
Grandini wasn’t far away when running second fresh up at Scone, which should be an excellent form guide.
The four-year-old mare by Toronado was a short margin behind You Think You Know, and that form could stand up nicely this season.
We’re happy with the odds available for the second favourite.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (13:40) Narromine USMC Maiden (800m)
#4 – Charlie Magic @ $2.35
Charlie Magic is better for two runs under his belt, including a second placing at Wellington last time out.
The three-year-old son of Magna Grecia couldn’t have gone closer last time out, so he shouldn’t take long to win a race.
Getting 1.5kg off his back could be enough to see him win.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 3. (14:15) The Courthouse Hotel Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Arambys @ $3.70
Arambys ended last preparation with consecutive placings at Gunnedah and Dubbo, and we’re backing him to break maidens.
The three-year-old son of Tassort should be stronger with the spell under his belt, and he won’t be worried by the track conditions.
He’s good enough to topple the favourite, so include him in picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (14:50) Qube Agri Memorial BM58 (1300m)
#2 – Hit the Rim @ $5.50
Seeking consecutive wins is Hit the Rim, who won a tough effort last time out by a short margin.
There isn’t much depth to this field, so he’s easily good enough to win the race, and punters get each-way odds for the loose favourite.
Getting the inside draw could be enough to get the job done.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (15:25) Alan Lloyd Memorial C1 (1100m)
#3 – Romantic Love @ $2.50
Romantic Love won well on debut at Warren, and although there is more depth to this field, he should handle it.
The three-year-old son of Astern won by 4.8 lengths with something in hand, so it was an excellent debut to the races.
After opening at $2.20, his odds have drifted, but we’re not overly concerned.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16:00) Douglas Egan Memorial BM58 (1600m)
#6 – Ain’t She Swell @ $13.00
Seeking consecutive wins is Ain’t She Swell, who showed a good turn-of-foot to finish over the top of them at $4.60 odds.
That’s a good form guide for this race, so we’re surprised by the double-figure odds available, despite rising in class.
2kg comes off her back and that adds to our confidence levels.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (16:39) Three Rivers Machinery Narromine Gold Cup (1600m)
#2 – Lockdown Gamble @ $4.00
Lockdown Gamble was never going to be competitive in the Little Dance behind St Lawrence, who is a genuine group horse.
Dropping to this level of racing good see his best form return, which includes six wins from 25 starts, and he won well three back at Dubbo.
Getting each-way odds is a fair price from bookmakers.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 8. (17:15) Narromine Hardware BM66 (1100m)
#7 – Stratified @ $3.50
Stratified has two wins from his last four starts, including a 2.5-length win at Warren last time out.
The four-year-old is the worthy favourite at $3.50, which is a fair price from bookmakers for the form runner in the field.
Getting the inside draw is enough to see him win again.
Stake: 2 Units
