The two-year-old filly by Russian Camelot has been well-backed to score in a tough field, and that’s a good sign.

Trembles returns for the Freedman stable following a spell, and the money has been put on.

The three-year-old daughter of Too Darn Hot ran third on debut at Morphettville behind some good types, so that form checks out nicely.

Getting the inside draw with Blake Shinn riding helps, so take the short odds.

Race 3. (14:00) Denistoun Park Maiden (2040m)

#3 – Mr Bannock @ $5.00

It hasn’t been vintage form from Mr Bannock yet, but he hasn’t had much luck in the run either.

The Hayes-trained three-year-old finished eighth at Ballarat after getting shuffled back, and he never got a clear shot at them.

Money has come for him, which is a great sign.

Race 4. (14:30) Total Animal Supplies Maiden (1200m)

#5 – Smarticon @ $2.40

Punters have been waiting for Smarticon to post a win, and after two placings from five starts, he won’t get a better chance.

The Feek-trained son of Smart Missile showed good early speed, and his third placing at Geelong fresh up is the best guide.

We’re happy to stick with him, and his odds could firm close to start time.

Race 5. (15:00) Louvretec Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Southern Money @ $4.40

Boasting a good record of five starts for a win and three placings is Southern Money, who scored at Mornington fresh up this campaign.

The three-year-old filly by Capitalist ran sixth at Sandown last start, but she drops in class for this, and she wasn’t all that far away.

Race 6. (15:30) More Places BM58 (1500m)

Williamstown is already a two-time winner this campaign and he’s good enough to add another on Monday.

The five-year-old won at Mornington two back, and he’s unbeaten at the track, which boosts his winning chances.

He also won at The Valley in January, so he’s good enough to put this field away off the inside draw.

Race 7. (16:00) Peninsula Kubota BM58 (1000m)

#2 – Melidesh @ $3.10

The four-year-old is running well recently, including a win at Ballarat before finishing second at Kerang last time out.

Form at Kerang doesn’t usually sit well in our horse racing picks, but he gets 2kg off his back, and this isn’t an overly strong field.

As the market suggests, he should be right in the thick of the action.

#1 – Gift of Oratory @ $3.60

The form around Gift of Oratory is impressive, and he couldn’t have won any easier last start at Bendigo when scoring by 3.5 lengths.

He ran second behind Move on In at Mornington prior to that, and he owns two second placings from two starts here.

Carrying a big weight is the only deterrent, but class takes him close.
