Manikato Stakes Tips for Trifecta
Punters should have four runners on their ticket for the Manikato Stakes trifecta. We recommend taking a boxed percentage trifecta. Spend what you want, and the payouts can be massive.

- Baraqiel
- Alabama Lass
- Skybird

Manikato Stakes First-Four Tips
We have included five runners for our Manikato Stakes first-four. Boxing all five selections for a percentage can still result in a huge payout, and you spend what you want.

- Alabama Lass
- Skybird
- Magic Time

Manikato Stakes Form Guide & Tips
(1) Rothfire ($18.00)
It’s tough to back Rothfire with any confidence, and the injuries earlier in his career took their toll later in life.
We can’t see him running well enough to beat this red-hot field.
(2) Baraqiel (Best Each Way – $4.40)
He’s an incredible type who is unbeaten in four starts at The Valley. He often goes under the radar, which was the case when paying $6 to win last start.
We’re not sure if he has the same level of talent as Lady Shenandoah, but he knows this track, and a Manikato Stakes win wouldn’t surprise anyone.
(3) Payline ($46.00)
He ran well once last preparation and that’s about it. Probably deserves to run in something easier than Group 1 grade.
(4) Sir Sway ($81.00)
He didn’t fire last time out and turning that form around against this field won’t be easy. We don’t think he’s up to this race.
(5) Magic Time ($8.50)
An interesting runner after winning at Caulfield fresh up. The ability is there, so she’s a first-four chance, but we can’t see her winning.
A placing might be her best chance, but it all depends on how the race is run off the inside draw. Keep her safe.
(6) Lady Shenandoah (Best Bet – $2.20)
An absolute star, and a real threat to Ka Ying Rising in The Everest. She didn’t win fresh up, but she should have. It was an electric effort to finish a nose behind Headwall, and she should have won with ease.
She’s a thoroughbred you get excited for, and although seeing Moonee Valley for the first time could be problematic, if she gets clear running room out wide, she could go woosh.
(7) Charm Stone ($27.00)
A winner fresh up last prep but she might need a run this time around. Prefer to back her down the Flemington straight.
(8) Skybird ($6.50)
No luck in the Moir Stakes, which is often the case around this track. She is armed with a good turn-of-foot, but she might be chasing Lady Shenandoah.
She’s a tough runner to omit from selections, and although $6.50 is too short, she can’t be left out.
(9) Alabama Lass (Best Roughie – $8.50)
We’ve made Alabama Lass the best roughie at $8.50 because we don’t want to touch any runner paying more than her in this race.
She was tough in defeat last start after being caught wide, and she’s the pace in the race. That often wins around The Valley, so include the Kiwi in Manikato Stakes picks.
(10) Ameena ($61.00)
The outsider and rightfully so. We can’t see her figuring in the finish.
