The six-year-old is a seven-time winner with over $11 million in the bank, and he has class, so he could overcome the wide barrier and storm over the top of them late.

Coming off a spell is Veight, who won at Group 1 level at Rosehill last time out before placing in a recent trial.

He is a tough customer and he won his only start at The Valley, so we’re not overlooking his each-way chances at nice odds.

A lovely type in the making and he was almost the best bet, but we opted for Hayasugi narrowly.

Getting in with 52kg and Craig Williams riding is ideal, and he has been excellent this year, winning his last four races in fine style.

His turn-of-foot rivals most in this field, so he can’t be left out.

We put the filly on top because she comes off a Group 1 placing behind Mornington Glory in the Moir Stakes, and she carries 50kg.

The daughter of Royal Meeting won three consecutive races last prep, including beating some of the best age-group runners in the land.
