Magic Millions 2YO Classic Form Guide & Tips
(1) Quietly Arrogant ($34.00)
He won well at the Sunshine Coast last start, but this is a sizable step up in class and we don’t think he’ll handle it.
Drawing wide hasn’t helped his chances.
(2) Gallo Nero (Best Each Way – $6.50)
Winning form at Randwick often stacks up well in the Magic Millions, so we’re not leaving out the son of Wooton Bassett, whose progeny are firing.
The colt showed a nice turn-of-foot to win at his second start, so take the each-way odds available.
(3) Secret Sort ($51.00)
After opening at $27.00, there has been no money for Secret Sort. That isn’t surprising, so we’re leaving him out of our picks.
(4) Luva Flutta ($46.00)
He’s shooting for three consecutive wins, but we’re not sure his times measure up to winning this race.
Good on connections for having a go, and he might mature into a nice group-winning type, but not at this stage.
(5) Cool Archie ($35.00)
Second behind Icarian Dream at Eagle Farm, but drawing barrier 20 could all but rule him out of calculations.
(6) Icarian Dream ($7.50)
Her odds would be much shorter had she not drawn barrier 21. She will need an awful amount of luck, especially if the race is run at Gold Coast, but we’re not ruling her out.
She has enough ability to win, and a little luck would go a long way.
(7) O’ Ole (Best Roughie – $15.00)
Boasting a win at Wyong two back followed by a solid fifth at Randwick behind Gallo Nero, O’ Ole is worth including in picks.
Barrier three is ideal and he could be the forgotten runner in the field.
(8) Vein Girl ($15.00)
A debut winner at Gold Coast when beating Torque to be Sure, who should have won last Saturday.
We’re not sure if that’s the top-level form guide for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic, but she enters first four calculations.
(9) La Bella Boom ($8.50)
The Tony Gollan-trained filly won at Doomben and Sunshine Coast to prepare for this race, and it’s tough to rule her out.
She won by 2.5 lengths last time out and having Craig Williams in the saddle is enough to take her close.
(10) Invincible Woman (Best Bet – $5.50)
The most impressive lead-up race came from Invincible Woman, who controlled the speed at Caulfield before kicking away for a 2.8-length win.
It was a professional performance for the filly with a big ownership group, and they could be cheering home a winner on Saturday.
Look for her to settle on the speed and give punters a good sight.
(11) Hi Barbie ($23.00)
We’re not sure what went wrong with Hi Barbie when failing to fire at Eagle Farm, but it was a concerning effort.
Based on that, we can’t include her.
(12) The Playwright ($20.00)
She finished third behind Icarian Dream when setting the pace. She is a chance if she gets a soft lead, but that is unlikely in what’s usually a hectically-run race.
(13) Memo ($8.00)
Money has come for Memo, who has yet to win a race from three attempts, but she has been facing nice fields.
She ran third behind Bel Merci on debut, who is a good chance in the Golden Slipper, before placing behind O’ Ole and Gallo Nero.
Getting the inside draw is enough to take her close.
(14) Formula Rossa ($101.00)
She has a nice win in her future, but it’s unlikely to come here, hence the triple-figure odds.
(15) Don’tdoubthelady ($71.00)
Drawing wide could end her chance of going close, and finishing in the first half of the field would be a success.
(16) Forgotten Spirit ($35.00)
She owns two placings from two starts, including a second behind La Bella Boom, but she was 2.5 lengths away.
There is a nice race in her future, but this might have come up too soon, but including her in first four bets wouldn’t be frowned upon.
(17) Space Rider ($8.00)
He needs a scratching to get into the field, but based on his debut win at Eagle Farm, he’s a chance.
We’re not leaving him out of calculations, as there is often an unfortunate scratching in the Magic Millions throughout the week.
(18) Blitzburg ($126.00)
A nice winner on debut but marginal form since.
(19) Earn to Burn ($201.00)
Needs a lot of luck to make the field, and we can’t see him winning if he gets in.
(20) Lovebug ($201.00)
Yet to win from four starts and that wouldn’t change on Saturday.
(21) Insain Lady ($201.00)
Needs some sort of miracle just to make the field.
