Livamol Classic Form Guide & Tips
(1) El Vencedor (Best Each Way – $8.00)
He didn’t finish off last start but it looked like he needed the run, so we’re giving him another chance.
Getting on a firmer track won’t do his chances any harm.
(2) One Bold Cat ($5.00)
He won the rescheduled Arrowfield Stud Plate last start on wet track at Matamata. Different conditions here, but he’s worth including in picks.
(3) Belardo Boy ($35.00)
He looked good winning consecutive races earlier this prep but they didn’t come at Group 1 level, and we can’t see him getting close to them.
(4) No Compromise ($18.00)
His form in Australia was good, but he’s past his best now. He would need to find a few lengths to be competitive under these conditions.
(5) Mali Ston ($23.00)
A good second placing fresh up against smart types before running on well enough for sixth.
Worth including in first four picks, and he always puts himself in the race.
(6) Green Luck ($41.00)
A southerner who will likely struggle against the best NZ has to offer.
(7) Jay Bee Gee ($23.00)
Loving its work this season, but despite winning three of four this time in, he hasn’t met a field of this depth.
That could be telling in the straight, and he also wants it further.
(8) Lightning Jack ($31.00)
Comes off a big run for fourth but lightning might not strike twice. Barrier 16 could put an end to his chances.
(9) Dionysus (Best Roughie – $16.00)
A nice type who gets all favours off the inside draw. He needed two runs back from the spell, and there’s a big race in him.
He is a two-time winner at Te Rapa, so the odds are worth taking.
(10) Prince Alby ($41.00)
We can’t see form from down south holding up at Group 1 level, and he would need to improve on that.
(11) Rolls ($11.00)
The Aussie missed a run in the Arrowfield and had to settle for second in a lower-graded stakes race.
It was a solid effort in defeat, and it should top him off nicely for the feature, so consider at the double-figure odds.
(12) Campionessa (Best Bet – $4.50)
Second at Ellerslie fresh before running a close fourth at Matamata. That was a run to prepare for this race, so expect better.
Te Akau knows how to win these races, and she maps perfectly in this race.
(13) Malt Time ($14.00)
Good enough to figure the finish after getting no luck last start. She got miles too far back in the run, so she deserves another chance.
(14) Pearl of Alsace ($21.00)
She once had an explosive turn-of-foot, but she’s a touch one-paced now. We can’t have her this time.
(15) Snazzytavy ($6.50)
Six wins from 12 starts and she has been well-backed to win. Unbeaten in three starts at Te Rapa, and it’s only the draw putting some off.
(16) Hi Yo Sass Bomb ($41.00)
A wet tracker who will be found wanting in this race.
(17) Master Marko ($51.00)
Form isn’t good enough recently to suggest at the big odds.
(18) Quality Time ($31.00)
Solid recent placings but he’s unlikely to run.
(19) Val Di Zoldo ($23.00)
Unlikely to run but she was desperately unlucky last week.
