Race 1. (13:00) Bet365 Never Ordinary Maiden (1107m)
#10 – Vain Champagne @ $2.45
Looking to go one better than her debut run is Vain Champagne, who finished second at Geelong behind Transactions.
The three-year-old daughter of Magnus hit the line nicely, and we thought she would be shorter than $2.45 based on that effort.
Include her in multis to start the day.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (13:30) Wollert Lifestyle Group Maiden (1207m)
#9 – Sudden Change @ $7.50
Each-way value is with Sudden Change, who hasn’t been too far away from breaking through this preparation.
The three-year-old filly by Lonhro ran fourth at Pakenham last time out, and she also posted placings at Sale and Benalla.
She’s capable, so include her at a price.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (14:00) Riverue Retirement Village’s Maiden (1607m)
#7 – Stylish Prince @ $1.45
We’re not surprised by the short odds for Stylish Prince, who ran second behind Rogan on debut, and Rogan has since won again last week.
The four-year-old was only 1.3 lengths behind the winner, and he has been prepared with a jumpout win at Cranbourne.
The odds are short, but he’s worth including in multis.
Stake: 3.5 Units
Race 4. (14:30) Plenty Valley Retirement Village Maiden (1457m)
#2 – Giant’s Reprieve @ $6.00
Giant’s Reprieve raced a touch greenly on debut at Benalla when running third, so he has plenty of improvement to come.
The son of Foxwedge placed behind Betwitchery after not running overly straight in the straight. If he puts it all together on Monday, it could result in a win.
Getting 2kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (15:00) C+M Build Group BM58 (1457m)
#4 – Wats Normal @ $4.40
Wats Normal took four starts to break maidens and he could kick on with it now for the McEvoy stable.
The three-year-old son of Vancouver won by 1.3 lengths at Werribee when using the blinkers for the first time, so the gear adjustment worked.
Getting the inside draw should make him tough to hold out, and the odds are appealing.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (15:30) MC Security BM58 (1607m)
#8 – Shoeless @ $2.45
Looking to cap off consecutive second placings is Shoeless, who placed at Werribee and Seymour.
The four-year-old deserves a win after a long run of outs, and he has found a winnable race at Kilmore on Monday.
Barrier two with Craig Newitt riding only adds to his chances of winning.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 7. (16:00) Bet365 Odds Drift Protect BM58 (1207m)
#1 – Exuma @ $6.00
Exuma won well at Werribee to start the campaign before adding a placing last time out at Seymour.
The three-year-old son of Blue Point owns two wins from seven starts, so the overall record is getting there, and it’s not a hot field.
He gets a big weight, but it might not stop him over 1207m.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 8. (16:30) Carlton Draught BM58 (1207m)
#2 – Amore Lunare @ $5.50
Amore Lunare ended last campaign with a win at Wangaratta, and there’s no reason why she can’t win fresh up at Kilmore.
The four-year-old daughter of Ilovethiscity gets weight off her back and there has been specking for her after opening at $7.
It’s not a hard field, so she could take advantage at nice odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
