The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old ran second at Newcastle before running at Canterbury and Hawkesbury, where he wasn’t far away.

He has time to find cover from barrier 12, so he will be tough to hold out.

Race 3. (14:45) Onrail Industries Midway Maiden (1000m)

#11 – Mind Ya Bizz

Mind Ya Bizz wasn’t far away when running second on debut at Gosford, which should be a good form guide for maiden racing.

The three-year-old filly ran behind Just Awesome as a $15 chance, and she has been given two soft trials since.

It’s not an easy maiden field, but she has nice upside.

Looking to make a winning return is Manukau, who ended last preparation with back-to-back placings at Hawkesbury and Warwick Farm.

The four-year-old mare by Lonhro looks to have more appeal than most in this field, and she could contest bigger races in the autumn.

We expect her to break through maiden grades very soon.

It was a good performance from the four-year-old son of Shocking, who was always going to improve with a run under his belt.

Rising to 1800m only helps, so we expect a fine performance.

#3 – Oakfield Mercury

Oakfield Mercury was scratched earlier in the week and saved for this race, which could prove to be a good move.

The four-year-old son of So You Think won twice last preparation before resuming with a fifth at Newcastle, and that’s good enough form.
